Kalanami Resort

Hi everyone! my steemit friends.
Today, I want to tell you a short story about my recent holiday, something real that happened to me and my family. I think it’s a good example for you to understand how to write a recount text and also a descriptive text.
Last August, during a weekend, my family and I visited a beautiful place in Takengon called Kalanami Resort. It was one of the most peaceful and natural places I’ve ever seen. The resort is surrounded by green hills, fresh air, and calm water. The view was so amazing that it felt like being in Switzerland, but it’s actually in Aceh!
I’ll share with you how I spent my day there, from having coffee at a riverside café, discovering the resort by accident, until finally exploring the garden and talking to the staff about staying there for our next school holiday.

At Kala Temu Cafe

Last August, my family and I went on a short trip to Takengon. It was a weekend, and we wanted to relax for a while after a busy week. Our first plan was just to have coffee at a riverside café called Kala Temu. The place was calm, the air was cool, and the sound of the river made everything feel so peaceful.
While I was sitting and enjoying my coffee, I noticed a beautiful resort right beside the café. It looked so nice and quiet, with small wooden cabins built above the water. I felt curious, so I walked through a small gate behind the café that led to the resort area.

The name of the place was Kalanami Resort. When I entered, I was amazed. The view was amazing, clear water, green hills, and colorful flowers all around. The air felt so fresh. The cabins were made of wood and looked simple but elegant. It was the kind of place where you could really rest and enjoy nature.
I went to the reception desk and asked about the rooms. The staff was friendly and explained that they have different types of cabins, Deluxe, Family, and Super Family.
I wanted to see the rooms inside, but the receptionist told me that the resort was fully booked at that time. Since I couldn’t enter, the receptionist kindly sent me photos and a brochure through WhatsApp. The pictures looked amazing! There was a cozy wooden room with “Happy Wedding” written on the bed using flower petals, and a romantic outdoor dinner spot with white curtains and candles by the lake.

Floating Cabin and the garden

A cozy wooden room with a special honeymoon decoration. On the bed, red flower petals spell out “Happy Wedding” with a heart shape and the initials “A ♥ F.” The bed looks soft and inviting, with clean white pillows and sheets. There’s a beautiful traditional Acehnese wooden wall design above the bed, adding a local touch. The room feels warm, romantic, and very comfortable, perfect for a peaceful night stay.

A beautiful open gazebo decorated with white curtains and soft lighting. Inside, there’s a small table covered with a white cloth, two elegant chairs, and candles placed neatly around. The floor is sprinkled with rose petals, making it look romantic and peaceful. In the background, you can see the green hills and a calm lake,a perfect setting for a private dinner or celebration. The atmosphere feels both natural and luxurious.

Twin wooden cabin

The beautiful view of the resort’s main area. Two wooden cabins stand on top of a calm lake, their reflections perfectly mirrored in the water. In the front, colorful flowers bloom in shades of red, pink, orange, and white, creating a lively and fresh atmosphere. Behind the cabins, green hills rise peacefully, making the whole scene look like a hidden paradise.

Seeing those photos made me even more excited to come back later. I told my family that we should stay there during the next school holiday. It looks like the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, and spend time together after a busy semester.
