Tokyo Visit: Japanese Neighborhood | 20% to JapanSteemit
From the Meiji Jingu, Japanese lifestyle knowledge, and its thick forest, we headed towards another shrine, I dunno why I added two shrines in the itinerary, perhaps we wanted to know more about Japan and its beliefs. The next shrine was Nezu. According to my research, this shrine is calmer and only a few gets to visit it, so expect that there are lesser people around compared to Meiji Jingu. Also, there's an array of Tori gates here so it would be a great photography spot.
According to our itinerary, we will also check Yanaka Ginza and I even noted to look for deep-fried potato for 30 yen only. Check streets and observe locals and culture, must wear something yellow or anything contrasting to red. But really, being new to this city requires familiarization of the streets and the maps and so there are so many things that we noted in the itinerary which were not realized.
But before reaching our destination which was the Nezu Shrine, we had to find our way there.
We took the subway then we walked in some Japanese neighborhood, it was very quiet and we feel a little shy about making any noise or arguments while checking our Google Maps. The neighborhood somehow only has elderlies, perhaps the young ones are out to work at this time.
What's fascinating is the presence of flowers along with the neighborhood, the houses here try to have their small spot of greenery but the flowers are blossoming, it was not even spring yet! We traveled to Tokyo in the summer, July of 2019.
My husband was assigned in finding the whereabouts of this shrine so while I was busy taking snaps of every corner, he was also busy looking into his phone and figure out where to go next.
This lilac shade was of great use when I photographed my husband who was busy with the maps. It was one of our struggles during our trip, finding places through the map. But we got over it.
We also spotted a healthy group of Billion Flowers of purple, pink, and lilac colors. They were really pretty I have to take some snaps of them. It's amazing to see these colors, I have only seen blue and pink ones in the Philippines.
Finally, after a short while, we reached Nezu Shrine. I will share with you the details of our visit in the next blog article. For now, sayonara, mata ne!
