Hydrate, Pray, Repeat
Again I have a migraine. I swear I sound like a broken record, but there you have it. My defective brain short circuited somewhere around 11 am. That's typical and it could be, in part, due to the fluorescent lights at work.
I try to keep my life in balance; sleep regularly, eat on time, and drink plenty of fluids so as not to dehydrate, but the disease has a way of sneaking up anyway. I suspect it's a lot to so with weather and barometric shifts and my usual medications are Excedrin and Tramadol, neither of which stopped the freight train (again).
Sunday I got a migraine on the way to visit Oakmont Bakery in Cranberry, Pennsylvania. Jeff wants our wedding cake to be ordered from there. The hour and a half drive to the bakery began the migraine. I was out of commission the drive back and for the rest of the day and I called in to work on FMLA the next day to sleep half the day away since the aftermath of a migraine is equally as debilitating as a bad hangover without the fun before.
Tonight I'm not the least bit hungry and that comes with every migraine. I drove the hour commute home and got here safe. My stomach shuts down or gets nauseous. I fast until the migraine clears. The next day after I eat once my appetite returns, often grazing all day.
My next botox injections for migraine are coming up on March 10th. This should temper all these migraines a bit. It's not a cure all, but the frequency can subside.
--end of 5 minutes--
I feel like I am tightrope walking ever time the suspicious symptoms creep up; watery eyes, yawning, nausea, light sensitivity, and speech problems to name some. As a phone representative for health insurance it's a hell of a rodeo and I ride the bull and watch the clock.
I can't complain because I survived the car accident and head injury that could have killed or maimed me worse in April 2001. That's not to say I like it a bit, but I need to count my blessings.
I write sporadically, live tenuously, bargain for time without migraine and pray one day there is a more advanced solution that let's me thrive more and suffer less. This is for me and the countless others who share one of many silent diseases out there. For now, I drink some water and post a freewrite and thank the Lord I'm alive.

Maybe some day soon, hopefully soon, you can work in a healthier environment. It makes me so sad that you have to suffer so much.!
Thank you for your kind words, @mariannewest 🥰
Headache might have different causes and not all headaches are migraines. Often headache is the consequence of stress, improper posture or TMJ
It's important to sit in front of a computer with a straight back. If you slouch either forward or backward it prevents your diaphragm from creating a vacuum in the chest cavity and all its subsequent promulgating to blood, liver, and kidneys for cleaning. That leads to diseases, including fibromyalgia, headaches and many others.
In addition, bad posture overstresses scalene muscle on your neck, which depresses your brachial plexus and prevents a sufficient supply of blood to your brain. That causes tension headaches.
Here are some videos of self-massage. It is not a panacea, but after applying it several times helps controlling tension headaches.
Thank you for the information and videos. I agree with posture affecting overall health.
My pleasure. I hope you're feeling better.
Maybe Debbie should try Botox @wandrnrose7?

If she gets 13+ migraines a month and preventive meds failed she most likely would be a candidate.
Lovely photo! Perhaps you had some anxiety about picking out the wedding cake and this may have brought on the migraine.
I don’t believe in taking a lot of medication if you can survive with out it.
Meditation may help balance the third eye ( located in middle of forehead) which if unbalanced can cause headaches and migraines.
I am not sure, dear. I try to mot take meds but they get so severe I'm out of commission when they hit. I notice them when weather changes occur.

@wandrnrose7 Very significant your freewrite, should always thank the Lord for being alive enjoying His creation. About migraine can be a product of stress due to daily worries and perhaps poor nutrition. You should try to make more life outdoors, walk, consume less medicine and provide love.
Thank you for your kindness and recommendations. 🥰
