RE: A Note- An Out-Of- The-Box Script (Test 2)
It feels to me yours is a bit more entertaining than the examples read. I read a bit around and it's more as if it's a clinical way of writing (abstract?) and next an actor with certain skills/character blows life into the partly hollow character described.
To me it a good read here, or short (10 minutes I can't make) I guess it's enough if we get the idea about how to write, or what is asked. Altogether the entries are good. To most it is a first try.
It's not easy to describe. I usually skip the parts where coloured leaves are falling, carried by the wind, blown via the open window and fell on a pink sheet fabricated with 30% plastic ordered by Ikea for the birthday of a missing child by now 42 years old.
A lack of words can play a role as well.🤔
The clinical thing is part of the appeal to me, at least in terms of drafting. Still, I assume a good script, or treatment rather, should flow and be a pleasant to read. Heard people argue that Cormac McCarthy's work translates well to films because he's using some kind of hybrid style. Like the whole first part of Blood Meridian goes like:
"See the child. He's pale and thin. He wears a thin and ragged linen shirt. He stokes the scullery fire."
I'm paraphrasing the opening from memory. He changes it up later on, but anyhow. Is probably the best example I know for being both clinical and poetic.
It is always good to have and read about the differents ways of creative writing! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and talent with the community.

It's a different way of writing and although descriptions are given there's room for fantasy. The more flow the more it has similarities with a story and it makes a better read for an outsider but I can imagine it's not what a director needs/likes to see.
