Comedy

Today we are going to talk about different aspects of comedy. Something like a chit chat. We will bring in some ideas and talk randomly about them.

So, when we talk about comedy. What do we think about? A person saying funny thing. That is easy peazy right? Well, some say there is more to that.

Some believe that, when a person is funny or has a sense of humor. That means that he has a deep understanding of the environment, people and tone of voice when speaking. He knows when to stress on something and when to say what to make others laugh. It is natural with some people. But, this gets developed within time.

But, is comedy only about being funny..??

The answer to this is no. When a person has a sense of humor, that could be used to reflect on some aspects of life that cannot be discussed as a serious topic. For instance, if we look at stand-up comedians. Not all of them are just there to make people laugh. Of course, a big part of it is making them laugh. But, we see some that are trying to raise awareness to an issue within society. Or talk about things that might not be talked about in public.

Sort:

To me a comedy is not a funny person but an act. A comedian is also not per se funny. At times they are more political and most of all boring. On New Years Eve there's alwaus a comedian asked to talk about the past year and they became terrible during the past 40 years. I start to believe humour is dead.

Well, you are right. But, that is applied to a certain period of time. Or, a certain comedians.

Do you remember Charlie Chaplin and Mr. Bean?
They were both aim to be funny. At the same time, there is a message to be delivered to the audience.

I think comedy has evolved a lot. In some countries more than others. Plus, it takes shape of the culture that it is in.

Charlie Chaplin had a message? I never discovered one. What was it?

Not in that way.. LOL. It is just that there are some of his act that shows something that is in the culture at times. In that sense, he could be shedding the light on something.

Anyway, what I am saying here is that comedy itself has evolved to what it is today.

I have no ideas to bring in. I like black humour, satire, and irony where a mirror is hold up. Not for those who feel offended by every word said which I see as away to attract attention.

I'm not sure about this. But, it felt like you where talking and something came up in your mind and you said it. It just feels like there is someone in particular that you are referring to. LOL..

Well, for me I used to like comedy in general. But, now I do not see myself looking for something that is funny all the time.
