EVERYONE HAS SOMETHING TO GIVE

Mr and Mrs Williams who were in their late 70s trudged slowly back from the community market where Mrs. Williams had gone to make the weekly purchases. Her maid whose duty it was to handle such things was sick and hospitalized.

Suddenly, she lost her footing at the foot of a hill near their residence and almost fell flat on her face. Her purchases got shattered all over the not-so-busy earth road. A number of people, including some girls, gathered to watch and laugh. I guess they thought it was all a concert, or something.

One young lady, Beatrice however ran to the old woman helped her to her feet and wiped her teary eyes with a handkerchief. She then proceeded to carefully gather the fallen items, one by one, into the basket. Thereafter, she carried it on her head and escorted them back home. Mind you, she had never seen the couple before.

To cut the story short, Beatrice eventually became a daughter in-law to the old couple. The third of their four children resident abroad had come home on a brief visit. One thing led to another. With the glowing recommendation of his parents, coupled with his own personal assessment, he told himself he didn't need to look farther afield for a wife.

The young lady had simply given what she had - compassion and respect. In return, she got a husband.

Dear reader, God does not answer prayers in a vacuum. You must be prepared to give something and keep on giving..
