Julie's Corner Store
Julie's corner store
Open.
The sign on the door
of the little store.
It was another day.
Deliveries arrive
Morning paper,
candy, sodas, gum
Children waiting at
the school bus stop
spend their milk money
Watch that one!
He puts things
in his pocket
Charlie's here
in the bread truck
(He likes Julie)
Julie always has
a smile
a playful word.
Charlie's married
it won't go anywhere
Oh well
The priest is here
for his discount
on smokes
He pays all in coins
Guess where
they came from
But life is good
"I have my health
my own business"
The American dream
Independent search
for happiness
I can watch TV
behind the counter
inbetween customers
The day goes by
Money comes in
and it's time for dinner.
The sign on the door
of the little store.
The end of another day.

Too bad Charlie didn't flirt with Julie, because there was a priest present.
Ha. Ha. Good one.
A good description what a day looks like from the moment you open the door till it's time to close. Thoughts, all sorts of are perfectly mentioned, a brain always active, observing, mentioning and in between the customers there is a small break. Room to watch TV with one eye on the door.
Knowing one's customers is a way to survive and keep the store open.
I was revisiting the corner store where I grew up. This is not fiction. :>)
Most of what I write is not fiction.
A great entry. This is creative writing!
👍

Thank you for the encouragement. :>)
Ejemplo... El cartero... El final... El sueño.... No dejes de escribir... El verdadero secreto es aprender. Por la lectura. Escritura y reescritura.
