"The destruction of humanity," considering what’s going on in the world today, there wouldn’t be much humanity left to destroy, or, to put it another way, worth saving.
I'm always skeptical of apocalypse claims, anyway. People have been predicting the world's end for thousands of years, and so far every prediction has been wrong. I guess someone might get it right sometime, but the odds are not in their favor. 😉 (I'm always skeptical of big advances in anti-aging for the same reason... just another iteration of the "Fountain of Youth".)
