I'm always skeptical of apocalypse claims, anyway. People have been predicting the world's end for thousands of years, and so far every prediction has been wrong. I guess someone might get it right sometime, but the odds are not in their favor. 😉 (I'm always skeptical of big advances in anti-aging for the same reason... just another iteration of the "Fountain of Youth".)
