TYPES OF REFRACTION DISORDERS (ASTIGMAT)

Hello steemian friends wherever you are, meet again with me @iqbal-pasee, one of the atomians member in Indonesia.

On this occasion I will discuss about the type of refractive error, namely astigmatism.

Astigmatism occurs because of the refraction of light that is split. This is largely due to the irregular curvature of the corneal surface, so that light entering the eye is focused on more than one focal point on the retina.

For those of you who have suffered from eye injuries or have had cataract surgery before, the receipt for astigmatism will be greater. Astigmatism can cause blurry vision at near and far away objects.

These refractive errors can occur alone, but can also occur in combination with other refractive errors.

Symptoms felt by people with astigmatism are the image changes shape, the image can appear taller, bigger, thinner or become crooked.

Astigmatism can be corrected using glasses with cylindrical lenses which function to unite all the focal points so that a clear image is formed.

Therefore, this refractive error is also known as a cylindrical eye defect.
