GENERAL STROKE RISK FACTORS
Hello steemian friends wherever you are, meet again with me @iqbal-pasee, one of the atomians member in Indonesia.
On this occasion I will discuss the risk factors for stroke
Stroke risk factors consist of various things, not only from your diet or the type of food you often consume.
Stroke risk factors are divided into two, namely factors that cannot be modified or controlled and factors that can be modified or controlled.
Factors that cannot be modified include:
Gender
Age
Race
Family history
And history of previous stroke
Based on research, male sex with age over fifty-five years and race of color will increase the risk for stroke.
And also for someone who has a family history of stroke or has had a stroke before, it will also increase the risk of having a stroke.
Then the modifiable risk factors for stroke are:
Cholesterol
Hypertension
Heart disease
Diabetes mellitus
Obesity or overweight
Cigarette
Alcohol
Risk factors for stroke will increase twofold in smokers compared to those who do not smoke, in diabetes mellitus will increase two to four times, in patients with hypertension the risk of stroke will increase sixfold and in patients who have had a stroke before, then the risk will increase up to ten times.
Control of these risk factors is very important, in order to reduce the risk of stroke.
"Remember prevention is much better than cure"
