TYPES OF DISEASE HEPATITIS

On this occasion I will discuss about the types of hepatitis

Based on its nature, there are two types of hepatitis, namely acute and chronic hepatitis.

Hepatitis only lasts for a few weeks or months, whereas chronic hepatitis can last for six months or more.

Based on the cause, there are viral hepatitis and non-viral hepatitis.

Non-viral hepatitis is caused by other than viruses, while viral hepatitis is caused by viral infections, namely hepatitis A virus, hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, hepatitis D virus and hepatitis E virus.

Each virus will cause a different hepatitis. For example, hepatitis A virus (HAV) causes hepatitis A, hepatitis B virus (HBV) causes hepatitis B and so on.

Of all hepatitis cases, 90% are caused by HAV, HBV and HCV.

Hepatitis A and E are acute hepatitis, can be cured completely and do not cause carrier conditions or carry the potential for disease.

The difference is that hepatitis E is more dangerous, especially when it occurs in pregnant women, because it can cause death.

Hepatitis B and C are hepatitis that have the potential to become chronic and carrier hepatitis.

The difference is, most hepatitis B can still be cured, but most hepatitis C will develop into chronic.

While hepatitis D is a unique type of hepatitis, in order to develop the hepatitis D virus requires infection from the hepatitis B virus.
