In And Around Arroyo

There are many cafes and restaurants in Arroyo la de Miel. You will find a little cafe or a restaurant every couple of blocks from each other. Most of these small local restaurants are tucked away. You have to live in the area to know they existed. They serve mainly the locals living in the area.

In the town center, where the tourists go to, the restaurants are bigger and the cuisine more international.

I remember reading somewhere recently that, not including the eateries on the Costa del Sol promenade, there are over a thousand small cafes and restaurants in Benalmadena. If I were to dine in a different restaurant every day, it would still take me a couple of years to go through them all. So, you can imagine how competitive the restaurant business is.

There’s a nice little park near Roger’s apartment. We call it the duck pond park. This is because the park has a duck pond. According to Roger, this is for the migratory ducks that are passing by the area. They stop by the park to take a break before going or returning to where they come from.
