Reminder: Round 5 of the Hive Blitz Chess Tournament, starting 30min earlier!

Dear chess friends!

yes time flies, today, Friday already the 5th round will be played (original announcement here).

Please note that we will start 30 min earlier than normal, not at 20 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) but at 19.30h!

Why is that? Because this time we will do a 90min tournament with a time mode of 10+0 - 10 minutes per game! Per definition of Lichess this is not Blitz anymore but "Rapid" but who cares about definitions.

Even if you have more time, please take care to spend it wisely and always check how much time you have left in comparison to your opponent. Don´t forget: A better position is not worth anything if you run out of time!

Free for all to join! Since it is played on Lichess, you need a Lichess-account in order to participate! Registration is done in no time (you just need a valid email address for verification).

RULES

• Players of all skill levels are welcome, from newbie to expert!
• Every Friday 20 to 21 GMT is one round (with few exceptions), season 1 goes over 10 rounds
• Time mode is varying (5+0, 5+1, 3+2, 10+0,...), rated, berserking allowed
• The tournament is open (for all Lichess-players, not only Hivers or Steemians)
• PAYOUT: The Season 1 will go for 10 rounds and points are summed up. All Hivechess-related post rewards are pooled and 90% go to the price pool. The winner will get 30% of that price pool, the second 20%, the third 10%, the rest is divided equally among the other players active on Hive or Steem, according to the rounds they have played. So everyone has a chance to get something!
