RULES
- Players of all skill levels are welcome, from newbie to expert!
- Every Friday 20 to 21 GMT is one round (with few exceptions)
- Time mode is varying (5+0, 5+1, 3+2, 10+0, 2+1,...), rated, berserking allowed (exc. in Swiss mode)
- PAYOUT: Each Season goes for 10 rounds and points are summed up. All Hivechess-related post rewards are pooled and 90% go to the price pool. The winner will get 30% of that price pool, the second 20%, the third 10%, the rest is divided equally among the other players active on Hive or Steem, according to the rounds they have played. So everyone has a chance to get something!

Swiss Tournament Rules
There are several differences between the "normal" arena mode and the Swiss mode which needs to be considered:
Arena tournaments | Swiss tournaments | |
---|---|---|
Duration of the tournament | Predefined duration in minutes | Predefined max rounds, but duration unknown |
Number of games | As many as can be played in the allotted duration | Decided in advance, same for all players |
Pairing system | Any available opponent with similar ranking | Best pairing based on points and tie breaks |
Pairing wait time | Fast: doesn't wait for all players | Slow: waits for all players |
Identical pairing | Possible | Forbidden |
Streaks & Berserk | Yes | No |
Points | Win:2, Draw 1, doubled if on fire | Win:1, Draw: 1/2, Not paired: 1 |
Late joiners | get no points | get 1/2 point gift |
Of note, the number of rounds is limited by the rule that no identical pairings are allowed. In other words you will play only once against a specific opponent - this is maybe the biggest difference compared to arena tournaments. So if e.g. only 7 players are participating, 6 rounds will be played at best despite I aim to go for 7 rounds.
Please share this announcement among your (chess) friends and colleagues!

why you people not vote the other post of the community?
I personally like to see (and give stronger upvotes too) own games, own analysis, self-created chess problems, self-organized tournaments, reports of chess events in own words etc. ... but of course that's a matter of taste.
OK... my next post will be full mine 100%
by the way... my very last post in my blog is a song with me playing at the piano!!! posting on DTUBE
https://steemit.com/hive-196037/@catto000/gp1lyxqloxe
Nice song! An advise: Use the full range of tags (e.g. with steempeak.com or peakd.com you can use 10 tags), why not #music or regional or language tags? That would increase your visibility!
And add some background about the song and about the artists.
And finally: Put them on Hive, e.g. peakd.com, there is in the meantime more interaction than on Steem.
Again, just recommendations.
because was just an upload... check my publications and you will see a lot of efford
Not exactly sure, what you mean. I do upvote a lot of posts, but not not any longer on Steem. If you want upvotes, then please go to Hive :)
Apart from this, I upvote according to efforts taken to create a post.
every post of this commutiy should be rewarded with 8 or 10 dollars.... if everybody vote
those who delegate to me SP, I will vote all your post for ever at 100% capacity
