Well, I think it's finally about time some other people get their hands on this. As I mentioned in a previous post for the past few weeks I've been collaborating with the good folks over at @steempeak on their integration of Communities, and I think you're all going to love it.

I'm especially excited because I got to have my own Community OnChainArt be the guinea pig for some of the exciting features they'll be offering including...

The Discord integration! I think that this could be a real game changer for increasing engagement. Everyone on Steem is already on discord anyway, so in effect this finally bridges the gap between these two platforms and allows Communities to leverage the full power of discord while maintaining a more connected experience.

The discord plugin also allows for guest comments as well if you want to allow that, meaning non Steemians can use this to discover Steem and ease the process of onboarding.

There are a ton of little UX improvements all over the place so I suggest just checking it out and be sure to let @asgarth and @jarvie know if you find any issues as this is still beta.

Be sure to subscribe to OnChainArt if you're haven't already.

That's looking really nice!

I think so too :)

A couple of things.

  1. I could not find a link to join the community on the steempeak community page.
  2. I also could not leave a comment on this post from viewing it on the community page.
  3. To join I had to load my community page, then find your community page in the beta steemit listing, and join via that method. I have no idea how anyone would join if they do not have their own community page. I found this to be a problem on steemit communities also.

I just logged into my steempeak page, and while I can go to this post and the comment block does show, when I go to the community page it does not show.

When I log into my beta dot steemit dot com page and then go to the community and click your(this) post I can make a comment.

So I guess the question is "In order to join or comment on steempeak community pages do I need to make my own steempeak community page first"?

I'm not 100% sure this is the issue, but beta.steempeak.com is not steempeak.com, so did you log in to the beta? If not that would explain everything. If you did login, then that's a big issue. The button to join is at the very top.

Definitely not.

No I did not log into betasteempeak.com, now a silly question, where is the log-in button for https://beta.steempeak.com/?

Below where I cropped, is just all the post.

Hmm, it might be that the beta is actually still closed. It should be up there in the top right.

Well at least they have a few things to think about. It really would be good to add a link in the About section of a community for people to easily go and sign up if they decide they liked what the community was about.

I think a lot of us are getting use to beta testing, if it is still closed, that is good, at least there are other ways for people to see your community in it's Plain Jane wrapper and then later in all it's steempeak glory.

that's just a bug on the beta site right now. Thanks for reporting it. It's beta after all.

I understand, it is not easy to bring things to life. Glad it got to the right people to fix,

not sure but it looks like they fixed it

That is one thing I have noticed about the steempeak crew, they are quick to find a fix for small issues. My wife loves steempeak, while I am still sort of stuck in the mud, but willing to get my feet out of it every-now-and-then.

i got to the point where is really hard for me to use steemit. and i don't really use a lot of the "advanced" futures. it is just more pleasing to use.

Very cool to see this taking shape! I'm a big fan of art and creativity, and a collected community like that is going to be a great asset to the Steem ecosystem as an example of something non-technical here!

=^..^=

Looking really great, mate! I believe this is the first time that I've seen Steempeak Beta, and I will definitely use this interface for my next post on Communities. I much prefer Steempeak's post editor, compared to Steemit's. Have you encountered any bugs or difficulties with using Steempeak Beta so far?

Well, yea I and a few others have been helping with finding bugs although I weigh in more on UX stuff vs finding bugs, but I have uncovered a few. It's still a beta so there will be bugs, but if you find any just report it to the steempeak guys and they'll fix it in no time.

Cheers! It's great to hear that you've contributed to making future Steempeak better :-) I'll definitely keep an eye out for those little improvements in the UI, and not to mention the pesky bugs...
