A proxy is a person who has been given the full permission and authority to represent you or stand in for you in certain areas. In other words a proxy is a person who does things on behalf of someone who has given him authority and permission.
In a series of computer networks a proxy is an intermidiate server whose job is to serve a middle between a client and the main network. The proxy sends in the clients request to the network and also sends nformation from the network to the client.
The above definitions are in other term, i.e Steemit's definition of what or who a proxy is is slightly different from the above definitions. Before I proceed with explaining a proxy in terms of steemit, I'ld like to explain a few things;

Witness;

A witness in steemit is a person who has taken the responsibility of of running a witness server which is a reliable node, while running this server it is expected of the witness to produce blocks and add to the chain. The witness is also expected to keep publishing and maintening an accurate price feed I terms of STEEM to USD.

Witness Votes;

These are more or less an important votes which decides the position of witnesses, and the regular users who are not witnesses also have an important role to play, because is the decider of who gets to be among top 20 Steems.

Now What is Proxy in Steemit?

A proxy in steemit has to be a person who keeps up to date with witness voting and uses his entire 30 voting slots. A user who is not aware about witnesses and doesn't know which witness to vote can set a proxy, a proxy is therefore like a representative in witness voting. In other words, when a user sets a proxy whichever witness that proxy votes the user will also vote. Every user is entitled to 1 proxy at a time. It is not wrong to say to that a proxy helps manage the witness voting life of steemit user for his/her.

Now Exploring Proxy Info

Proxy info is a subsidiary tool in steemworld which was developed by @steemchiller. The tool was created to allow people see who has set them as their witness proxy and to see whom they have set as witness proxy. Once a user sets a witness proxy he/she automatically losses all existing witness votes, give out his/entire 30 slots to the proxy.

Using this tool;

1.) Visit Steemworld.org and sign in.

2.) Select and click on Proxy info

3.) You'll be directed to the tool, there's a search space which you can use to search for outgoing or incoming proxy on accounts.

The above image shows the result of when I searched an account, the result is for users who proxied to him. This means that what ever witness he votes all those accounts will also vote that witness.

The above image displays the result of when I searched the same account in order to see the person he proxied to, but the search came back empty meaning that he didn't set anyone as proxy.
