Hello all betterlife lovers, welcome to my home. Well I am going to be reviewing my residence. At the moment I am a student so I live alone by myself in a hostel the university. Nevertheless is the holidays and I have comes down to our family house to spend some time with my mother, father and other family members.

Front of the house

So I'll start with a brief history. The house is owned by my father. He actually bought this plot of land in the year 2002 and started constructing out family home in 2004. We moved to the brand new house in 2006 and we have been living here ever since. Even though at that time it was not finished, it was basically just pure concrete but with a toilet and doors. My father so badly wanted to leave the former house we were renting.

We live in Cameroon, precisely at Bonadikombo Limbe Quarter 17 (location). My house is a 5 bedroom house with two bathrooms, one living room and one kitchen. Actually there are 4 bedrooms we use and one guest room. There are 3 doors to get into to the house, we have the main door which is visible above, the side door and the kitchen door.

The design of the house is all which, we have white tiles on the walls outside, white floor tiles allover the house, which staff on the walls inside and most of the ceilings painted white. There are flowers planted round the house which marks the territory but the fence is under construction.

The backyard

So above is the backyard of the house, this is where the side door or corridor door as we call it is found alongside the kitchen door. We do laundry outside so there is an outside tap and at the backyard and the slab there is where we sit to do the laundry or lay stuff we have to brush. We also use that slab to dry shoes.

You can see the blocks mounted at the back, they will use that to construct the fence. It's been raining so the blocks are wet. There a wooden house also found behind house house. We use that as our firewood kitchen where we keep firewood and we also have a fire side in there.

The Long Corridor

Getting into the house from the side/corridor door, this is what you will see. It's a very long corridor. At both sides of the corridor we have bedrooms, one of the bathrooms, the kitchen door and the door heading to the living room from the the kitchen. The walls are dirty mostly because of dust and young children rubbing their hands on it.

Where I stood to take that selfie is between the kitchen door and and the door leading to the living room from the kitchen.

When you walk to the end of the corridor, and you turn to the right the corridor still continues. So the corridor forms an L shape around the whole house in a way that you can access every part of the house as you are moving down the corridor. So where I stood to take the selfie above, this at the bend of the corridor. Where I am standing is the entrance to the living room from the other rooms.

At the end of the corridor we pack things like brooms and other cleaning equipment, also drums that we use in traditional meetings. There and ironing table there as well but it also doubles up as the reading table.

The Kitchen

Our kitchen is quite small. We have a tall standing fridge a kitchen slab with a sink, a gas cooker with an oven and a gas bottle. The over is very much unused because I don't bake and both my parents don't bake as well but my sister does. It's only when she comes visiting that we use the oven. There are cupboards below the slab and sink and also on the walls about the kitchen. The kitchen also has a door that leads outside to the kitchen veranda and the outer part of the house.

The Bedrooms

Like I said we have 5 bedrooms and two toilets. One bedroom is the masters bedroom which has a toilet and the other one is the visitors bedroom. So that's 3 bedrooms left for 5 children. The way my father made it all the girls shared one room while the boys of the house has seprate rooms each. We didn't like because we were 3 girls but anyways we had to respect our fathers wishes. He had his reasons for making the arrangement so. Sorry I couldn't take pictures of the bedrooms, I feel like that's everyone's personal space.

The Living room

The living room is the biggest room in the house, it takes two sets of chairs and a dinning table. We also have a huge cupboard where we keep all kinds of glasses including my father's drinks and maybe some valuable plates and antiques. Our television hangs from the wall but it's bad now so it's at the repairs. The living room also has 2 huge windows from ventilation. The living room has 3 doors, one door is the main entrance door and the other two doors lead to different parts of the corridor. There is also a fan for when it's hot and a central table standing on a nice carpet for more furniture.

The Side View of the House

Our house is like on a hill so when coming from down the above picture is what you'll see first. You can see a metal structure there, that is a container store, my mother used to sell stuff there but now her health isn't stable so the store is closed and getting old and rusty.
There's still some land visible around the house and you can also see the foundation of the construction of the fence.
