I want to invite the following 3 friends to participate in this contest.
And in this sequence, I want to thank @dove11 who invited me to this contest.
In our childhood, all of us kids (including my uncle and aunt's kids) used to go to our elders' village, and during summer vacation, we 10-12 kids between 8 to 14 used to play together. It was a lot of joy plucking fruits in the fields and bathing in the farm's tube well.
Then, at their home, we would all go to bed shortly after dinner as long as 8 o'clock. But, before we went to bed, our grandma would make us recline on a bed spread in a big bed and tell us stories, some real and some made up.
There were few options for entertainment in tiny towns and villages back then. Neither television nor the internet had been created, nor had cell phones. That's why people used to entertain themselves and pass the time by talking to one another or hearing to tales.
Grandma's made-up tales were mostly about spirits, ghosts, dacoits, magical creatures, magicians, fairies, and the like, and we used to love them as youngsters.
We had seen an ancient residence in the same the village during the day that had become ruins, with completely broken doors and walls.
When all of us kids saw that house, we were always curious about what would take place inside. But no one ventured to go inside.
When we were playing near that old house and peeping inside through its broken window, a man chastised us noisily and said, "Don't peep in it, ghosts live inside it." We fled there in terror and returned home.
One of us boys was my aunt's oldest; he came home and separated us four boys, saying there were no spirits and continued like that.
Tonight we will penetrate the home and see what is inside. I was very nervous at the time, so I refused to go, but he refused, and after everyone had gone to bed, all four of us silently entered inside the damaged wall of that house with a candle, I was in poor shape due to fear, but the light of the candle gave me some confidence.
When we arrived inside, we found a muddy cairn. "There will be treasure in it," my brother, who had ascended to the post of chief, stated.
The rest of us three tried diligently but he wouldn't listen and continued excavating the earthen mound with a shovel; after 10 minutes of digging, human skeletons began to emerge. We all began shrieking, and we all fell from there, and I got a fever from terror.
After many days, I told my grandma the truth, and she told us that the cottage belonged to a big nobleman whose wife used to perform magic acts, and one day she made a village child very ill due to magic. She and her spouse have never been seen since. Later it was discovered that they had their Tomb built there by requesting assistance from some organization; since then, no one visits that house, which is known as Wretched.
THANKS TO READ MY STORY,
It's a nice entry friend!! Well, you remind me of my childhood also. I also didn't have access to technology at that time, and just did outdoor activities and enjoyed nature with my friends!! I missed that time so much... any way, I didn't have this type of terrifying experience, thankfully!!
Good Luck with the the contest!!
