#burnsteem25 | Survey of Roads in Paya Bakong District Using Technology Systems and Civil Engineering Methods
About a week ago or on May 12, 2022, my team and I had a new task to survey the 5.5 KM Paya Bakong North Aceh road, the first survey we did to determine the total length of the road that would be the best, and we also have to check the details of the damage that exists along the road, this road construction work is a repair work, or what is more commonly known as Civil Engineering is a Leveling job.
We need at least 3 days to conduct a survey, where every damage or large hole in the road must be measured in detail and then we calculate the volume of work according to real conditions in the field. This survey process involved more than 8 people with their respective job duties.
Starting from point 0 to 5.5 KM long we had to measure manually using a meter to get a stationing point that would be used as a benchmark at every 50m and 100m distance, by walking along the road with all the team coupled with hot weather conditions during the day made us all fatigue, but even so we still have to measure manually for each work item to be repaired and so that it is in accordance with the work contract that has been mutually agreed, so as not to make mistakes during implementation later.
Survey work requires high accuracy to ensure the volume of work is in accordance with the condition of the road damage to be repaired, we also have to re-match the plan drawings with the road conditions to be repaired to get the volume according to the actual road conditions, this is our main task as supervising consultant on every road construction work that will be done later.
After taking raw data in the field or at the location where the road construction work will be carried out, then we recalculate the data to get the volume of material requirements for each work item that will be done later, calculating the volume or BoQ requires accuracy and accurate data, so that the volume of work is in accordance with the agreed work contract, and we usually calculate it using technical analysis applicable in the area so as not to result in over volume on a project.
The following is a documentation of the survey process for the construction plan of the Payakong Subdistrict, North Aceh Regency which we carried out with the team at the location.
