Choices making ( September nudget)
As a young lady who grew up with smart brains but didn't have the opportunity to enhance and broaden her intelligence through educational training. I strive from early stage of my life to at least get an O-Level certificate and I did that by deciding to go for a care giving service ( as a house girl).
I decided this from earlier stage when I was still in primary 3. I started by deciding to go stay with my mum's best friends with the influence of the woman's love towards me and her closeness with my mum. I knew I would have a better opportunity going to school with any problems from her place. So I told her I will love to come stay with her which discussed with my mum because I noticed she was found of me. That was my first step Which I succeeded in it.
So I was able to finish my primary education through her. Then my older siblings decided for me to come back so that they will take the responsibility of training me since I had a very sharp brain. I came back and they made every arrangements for my secondary school enrollment which was successful.
My JSS 1 was very easy because they planned for it but my JSs 2 wasnt funny at all, I couldn't afford school fees, test books, and other little payments in school. And I was punished and flogged on several cases , sometimes sent home. It was really difficult but I was managing and the school authority was actually helping by allowing me to now, they don't send me home anymore because I happened to be one of their best students then.
At JSs 3 I couldn't afford to register for junior Waec so I was going to drop out of school but fortunately one of teacher took it up and paide for everything and I wrote the exam. After exams I decided leave home for care giving service anywhere so that I can finish my secondary education.
SS1 I was already in pH doing a care giving work and I was sent to school, it wasnt easy because I was being moved from one home to another, I actually had to endure it since my motive is to finish my Secondary education. And I pulled through but during the time of my senior Waec the family I was staying with decided not to register me and to me to go that they don't need my services anymore.
This is where my good attitude all these while and I'm my environment paid off. One of my classmates took it up on herself to make sure I don't go back village until I finish my exams. So she took me to her parents begged them so that I can stay with them to finish my exam, mind you, I have not registered yet. And they accept me. Being a very good girl in school and some of my teachers liked me because I was brilliant, so they decided to contribute money with my class mates to raise my registration fee and I paid and wrote my Waec.
After O-Level, I came back, no money to further my education because I wanted to become a doctor, I waited till I got tire, I decided to acquire a skill and I did. But in my mind I still want to further but this time I made another decision to train myself.
Right now I just single handedly finished my National Deploma as a Civil Engineer. Studying an engineering courses as a lady wasnt easy because it requires a lot of hard work and dedication but I did and now I'm preparing to go back for my Higher National Deploma by November all by myself. Remember I'm an official Orphan. But this is all my choice to become a better version of myself.
I make hair, a style clothes, I cook and I do some small small businesses to help my dream come through. And I'm happy I made the right choices though it wasn't easy but I didn't.
So I encourage you to make that choice, right choices to become a better version of yourself no matter the condition you find yourself, don't let your current situation to affect or determine your choice making. Think over it , analyze it and make a decision that will help your choice of life.
