An Acehnese empowerment assistant visited a grieving house in Pulo Village, Syamtalira Aron District. Where there are small children who are still in school. The cost of living is very difficult after his parents died.

We all companions collect donations to be given to families who are in disaster to help with their daily needs. Before we left, we first gathered with friends who wanted to join in this donation event.

We have been raising funds for more than two weeks until all of them have been collected with an amount of Rp. 20 Million Rupiah. We give these funds directly to the wife of the victim who died. It was sad when we saw the wife was pregnant and had been abandoned by her husband for good.

In addition, there are children who are still in education who need to be assisted for the continuation of their education. We feel sad when we hear stories from the school but our ability to help is very limited considering the current economic conditions.

The symbolic gift was given directly by the district coordinator and witnessed by all the assistants present as a form of our openness in collecting and forwarding donations from other friends who could not join us.

Next, we filled the program with spiritual lectures for the bereaved families in order to gain great patience in dealing with the calamity that befell them. This lecture aims to entertain families who are still alive to continue living as they should without anyone giving up despite facing all the limitations.

Finally, we were given drinks and snacks to taste, as is the custom of the people we live in. Every guest who comes must be honored for the sake of intimacy between others and a sense of social and caring.
