The Great Wall of China

in STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE2 years ago

Hi, I am Lailatul Ferdawsi Aporna. I love to travel. InshaAllah, I have a lot of desire to visit the Great Wall of China, so today, I will write about the Great Wall of China. A unique sign of human engineering is the Great Wall of China. This wall is the most extended manufactured structure in the world. The combined length of the Great Wall is more than half the length of the Earth's equator. This military defense structure of the past has become a symbol of world heritage and China. The Great Wall of China does not refer to a single wall. The Great Wall of China combines the walls built during different dynasties of China. The location of the Great Wall covers about 15 regions of North China. This Great Wall is the most extended manufactured structure. The oldest part of the Great Wall is about 2700 years old. Who first built these walls between 770-276 BC? And the last construction of this wall was done in 1878 during the Qin Dynasty.

Who built such a colossal establishment based on a rumor? Emperor Qin Shi Huang united Central China to form the Qin Empire in 221 BC. Before the establishment of the Qin Empire, several small states in China built walls to resist enemy attacks. After Emperor Qin conquered the kingdom, a sorcerer told him that the northern nomads would one day overthrow Emperor Qin. Fearing losing power, the Emperor ordered the construction of a link between the surrounding kingdoms' walls. The walls were connected between 220-200 BC. WHO secured China's small borders then, and they became the Great Wall. It is now infrequent that any part of this wall remains.

Most of the parts of the wall that can be seen today were built during the Ming Dynasty. In 1381, the Ming Dynasty began building the wall. They managed to make about 8,851 km of the wall. The primary purpose of these walls was to protect China's northern border from outside enemies. In some places, two or three rows of walls have been built to achieve the purpose of the wall. Twenty dynasties of China contributed to the construction of the Great Wall from start to finish. During the reign of these dynasties, the ramparts were enlarged, modified, expanded, and rebuilt at different stages. More than 1 million people were forced into labor to build its military infrastructure. Soldiers, common laborers, civilians, and convicts were mainly used as laborers. More than 400,000 died at various times while making this wall. Many of them are buried within these walls. Therefore, the tallest structure in the world is also known as the longest human tomb.

This wall starts from Shanghai Pass and ends at a place called Loknur. Built over several thousand years, the combined length of the ramparts is about 21,196 km. The average height of this wall is about 20 feet, and the maximum size is about 46 feet. Geographically, there is a significant variation in the location of the border because of Who built the walls in different high and low areas. The most down position of this wall is almost at sea level, and the highest is 4722 feet. The Great Wall of China measures approximately 21.5 feet in width.

Although it is called Prachir, this structure is not an ordinary wall; Who built various forts, cantonments, observation posts, non-internal roads, and other convenient infrastructures around this wall? Natural barriers like Tibet on one side and the China Sea on the other have long protected China from outside attacks. But the north of China needed to be more undefended. So the wall was built as a first-level security measure against the northern Han tribes. It effectively resisted enemies, but this wall could not always keep China's external enemies at bay. Although this wall could withstand many small attacks, the Mangal army led by Genghis Khan managed to build the Great Wall in the thirteenth century. For the next 100 years, those who made the wall to prevent it controlled the wall. More than 50 million domestic and foreign people visit the Great Wall of China every year. Most of this wall is called Badaling.
