*Steemian Buddies! i hope you enjoying your every day routine. I am Awais Rasool from Pakistan going to write in this community for the very first time. The land of Punjab is rich in traditions and heritage culture. Punjabis are among the few communities in the world that pride themselves on passing down their heritage from generation to generation. Among so many traditions in the culture of Punjab, one such tradition which has been going on for a long time is the Fair. This culture has established its presence in one form or another, sometimes to welcome the spring and sometimes in the form of the annual Urs of the Saints who are buried on the soil of Punjab.

Sports at Fair(Mela)!

Fair as a culture is organized according to Punjabi Calendar Year on a fixed dates. Various sports programs are organized for the enjoyment of the visitors. Among the sporting events, the most popular game is Kabaddi, which is enough to add charm to any festival. Players prepare for the whole year to perform in this festival. Crowds come to watch this game at full swing. The spectators go to the ground and give prize money to the player who performs well. At the end of the match, the entire team is awarded separately with a trophy and a fixed prize money.

Swings at Fair

Other amusements at the fair there include swings. Which play a very important role in attracting especially children and women to the festival. There are different types of swings including train swing, dolly swing, jumping swing and boat swing etc. There are also huge swings installed at the fair which require strong nerves to sit on. Visitors with weak nerves shy away from sitting on them. These swings are thronged by pilgrims on all days of the festival.

Enjoy With Friends

People are excited to visit these fairs throughout the year and enjoy there as well as buy various things. Mela is also one of the few occasions where people get out of their busy and routine life to find time for themselves. The company of friends at fairs is nothing less than a blessing. Apart from games and swings, there are also a variety of food items.
