Self Empowerment: Is it important to have unconditional support from those who surround you?
This Self Empowerment Series, dedicated to the Steemit Community Ask.Steem, will offer a wide variety of open questions for you to consider with the objective of delving into your experiences, identifying your true needs and discovering what is meaningful to you. This process will require you to reflect and introspectively ponder on the negativity in your life, as well as the joy. It will encourage you to see who you really are so that you can express that Self to the world. There are no right or wrong answers; there are only your answers, and what they mean to you. I will provide my answers and perspectives on my podcast The Tino Take.
Hi @famigliacurione, here are my random thoughts on the matter:
Whilst it is important to have unconditional support from people who surround me (I take that this means people who are in close proximity with me like family, friends and colleagues and who have the ability to influence the outcome I am trying to achieve), it is not a necessary condition for self empowerment.
Self empowerment, among others, entails the ability to influence others to help you achieve your goals. Thus faced with a person who is not willing to support or cooperate, the goal seeker would simply proceed to look for ways to influence the person to change his/her mind.
Supposing the self empowered person fails to influence the other, then too he would not flinch at such failures or lack of support from the other. Faced with a set-back (like lack of support from those who surround him/her) he/she will have the resilience to persist and will continue to seek other ways to achieve his/her goals.
Note: I listened to your first podcast on The Tino Take. You certainly have the gift of the gab. You have more than 20 podcasts so far. Will be going through them one by one, whenever time permits.
