Before writing about the book I want to write about the author of the book. The author of the book is Humayun Ahmed, a popular fiction writer in Bangladesh. He is a dramatist, novelist, filmmaker, scientist, and professor. He has created some fictional characters. Among whom Himu, Misir Ali, Shubhra, Bakerbhai, and Tuni are one of them. He died on 19 July 2012.
Himu is a series of fictional characters created by him. Today I am going to write about a book in this series called Himu Madhyadupoor.
The author's best creation Himu's original name is Himalaya. The name is given by his father. Himu is an unemployed young man. He prefers to be unemployed despite having job opportunities. He is a very indifferent person who has no permanent place to sleep, eat or stay. His favorite dress is yellow panjabi but that panjabi has no pockets. He does not carry money or shoes. Himu has no parents, siblings no friends. But Himu has a good relationship with his aunt Majeda. He called her majeda khala.One of the special features of the character Himu is that he can make predictions.
The story begins with dialogue by Aunt Majeda, where she asks Himu for a kidney. Himu immediately agrees to give her a kidney and gets into the car with Aunt Majeda. Some other characters in the story are Badal, Ranu, Denzar Adami Kislu, and poltu sir. The plot of this story is based on Patlu Sir. Paltu Sir reads books all day long and in between reading books, he makes a special sound, which sounds like the cock-cock of a chicken. That's why Paltu sir was called Murgi when he was young.
Poltu is known to Sir Majeda Aunty and Majeda Aunty has asked Himu for a kidney for him. Majeda aunt drops Himu at Paltu sir's house. When Paltu sir saw Himu for the 1st time, he thought Himu a servant and assigned Himu as a servant. Himu was happy and started working as a servant in Paltu sir's house. This is how the story progresses and at the end Paltu becomes a huge fan of Himu. You will understand how Poltu Sir, became a blind fan of Himu after reading the story.
