All You Should Know About Voting Csi - Upvote Regularly!
Hello friends,
The rate at which the voting csi of individual account reduces is alarming and this has prompted me to make this post.
Before I proceed, I will love to extend my warm greetings to the hard-working moderators and tireless members of this great community.
Without your hardwork, we wouldn't be standing here today, please follow along as we gain a good understanding of voting csi and why it should be increased.
WHAT IS VOTING CSI
Voting Csi which is an acronym for Voting Community Index can be explained to be a mechanism on steemit that helps to measure the frequency at which steemians support each other.
Remember that steemit is a social media platform that helps to reward it's authors through upvotes.
Being a social media, this means there should be an interaction between steemians, we should give relevant comments and upvote on each other's articles.
The voting csi tool can be found on steemworld.
We cannot underestimate the power of being generous with our upvotes, it helps to tighten the bond we share on steemit and we can also earn curation rewards from it, and this will help increase the joy we feel on steemit.
Let us use the account of our curators for example, precisely steemcurator01.
Imagine if the steemit team decides to withhold the support they share through upvotes, how will our stay on steemit be?.
Of course, many will leave and this is because the sole aim of steemit is no longer being accomplished.
Other social media operate through continous communication among it's users and steemit operates through the making of quality post, commenting and upvoting, and without this, the platform will not be useful.
Another fact we should ponder on is this, would it be appropriate to seek for upvotes without giving upvotes ourselves?
Take a look at what was said by the steemit team.
Shown above is one of the sentences made by the steemit team, as seen above, they encouraged country representative to regularly support other users with the delegation they were given.
HOW TO GIVE SUPPORT
The process of giving support through upvotes is not a new thing on steemit, it is something almost all of us are familiar with but for the sake of newbies, I will explain the process again.
To give support through upvote, you click on a person post, after reading it and discerning that it is worth to be supported, you scroll down before the comment section and you will see the below.
You will find something just as shown above, you will see two arrows in a small circle, one coloured red and the other coloured green.
The one with a red colour stands for a downvote, and it's usually given if the account is a Farming account, or if thale account is being used for dubious activities.
The icon coloured green is usually used for upvotes, and it used when the contents is of great quality and needs to be supported.
Clicking on the upvote icon, the below will appear.
The above displayed help the curator measure the amount of vote to be given, and this is rated from 1% to 100%.
Depending on the quality of the post, the curator can design the weight he wishes to upvote the account.
As seen above, I decided to give the user an upvote with my desired voting weight, see below for the effect.
As seen above, after I clicked on it and gave my desired weight, the payout of the author increased, even if it was a little increment.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU UPVOTE OTHERS
Although, there is no specific rule as to the number of posts one can curate daily as there are lots of things to check and confirm before giving upvotes.
A steemian can set a target of giving at least 10upvotes to quality posts each day, and after that has been achieved, he can increase the target.
One thing we should do well to check always is our voting power from steemworld.
When giving upvotes, we shouldn't allow our account power go below 80% so that it can get fully recharged the next day.
As seen above is the voting power of steemcurator01 and steemcurator02 respectively.
The steemit team didn't allow the voting weight to go below 80% and as seen in the blue coloured highlight.
The both accounts has few hours to be fully recharged.
From when this post was made, steemcurator01 voting power will be filled in 13hrs and steemcurator02 voting power will be full in 22hours.
CRITERIA TO GIVE UPVOTES
Inorder to give upvotes to other accounts, there are some qualifications an account has to meet.
Without meeting this qualification, they shouldn't receive upvote from us.
Many individuals has made this mistake, they upvote just any post they come across without checking if the user should receive such votes.
Some of the criterias we should check before upvoting on other articles are:
- VOTE ON REAL ACCOUNT:
There are some accounts here on steemit that are being controlled by bots, they don't make quality post.
They don't follow the rules of the steemit team, they act in a way that cheats the platform.
Giving our upvotes to such account is wrong and can reduce us of some privileges.
As shown above are rules from the steemit team and Inorder to get appointed as a country representative, it must be strictly followed.
As shown above, the steemit team made mention of strange accounts, we shouldn't vote on strange account, we should only upvote on real accounts making real posts.
Many steemians were not selected to be country rep because they voted on strange accounts.
- AVOID PLAGIARIZED CONTENTS:
Another very important criteria we should check for before upvoting an article is plagiarism.
It is very important that we scan for plagiarized contents before giving an upvote, we need to avoid plagiarized content and vote on original/plagiarism-free contents.
Many steemians are fund of stealing other user's article, and this is most times done due to laziness, we should work together to remove theft from amongst us.
We can easily scan for plagiarism using smallseotools
- ENSURE SUCH A USER BELONGS TO A CLUB:
Another Important criteria before giving upvotes to an account is to check for the club status of the account.
Here in steemit, we have 3 club status that one ought to be a member of before they qualify to receive upvote, they are:
Club5050
:
Club5050 is a club status that requires that a user has powered up half of his earnings within the period of 30days.
This implies that if a user has made a total of 100steems in a month, he will have to power up 50steems to become an eligible member of club5050.
Club75
:
This is a club status that implies that a user powers up 75% of the liquid earnings he has made within 2months.
Unlike club5050, here a user is being checked for 60days.
This implies that if a user has made a total of 100steems within the period of 2months, he will have to power up a total of 75steems to be a member of club75 status.
Club100:
This is the supreme club on steemit as it requires a user to have powered up his total earnings within the period of 3months.
To be a member of this club implies that you have not sent out any steems from your account within the period of 3months.
You can easily check your club status and that of other steemians using the steemcryptic tool
- CHECK FOR STEEMEXCLUSIVITY
Steemexclusivity of a post can be said to occur when such a post has not been made in another platform like steemit.
A user can make same post on steemit and on another platform and not be tagged a plagiarist because he is the author of the article, such an act Is called cross posting, and such a post cannot be said to be steemexclusive.
Before upvoting on any user post, always ensure that the post is steemexclusive.
- AVOID VOTE-BUYING ACCOUNTS:
There are accounts here on steemit that get involves in vote buying.
Vote buying is a selfish act some steemians do by delegating their steempower to a big account, hereby receiving a percentage vote from that account daily.
Such practices are detrimental to the growth of steem economy, as such steemians goes against all the the rules and ethics of steemit platform.
They don't upvote other users, they don't engage, which is the aim of steemit, they are just here to earn and that's bad.
Accounts involved in votes buying shouldn't be voted on.
THE STANDARD FOR VOTING CSI
Yes, there is no rule as to the amount of posts that should be curated daily, but we need to use our initiative to ensure that our voting csi is not below what is required.
As a steemian that supports other users with quality contents, our voting csi shouldn't go below 5%.
Any voting csi below 5% indicates that such user does not regularly support others with upvote.
Many of us are very busy with doing other activities on steemit, activities like organizing contests, engagement challenge, making quality post etc and may not be always chanced to do the voting.
For users as such, we can easily join an active curation trail account.
By joining a curation trail, we agree to allow a third party make votes on our behalf, we can simply do this by following the curation trail.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR VOTING CSI
To check the voting csi of an account is a very easy task.
The first step to take is to visit steemworld
As seen above, I have a voting csi of 36.3 which is an indication that I am doing well in supporting other users.
Also shown above, I have a self-upvote of 1.71% and this is so due to some uncontrollable occurrence.
I joined a curation trail and it voted on my post, that is what led to the little percent of self-upvote I have.
MAINTAIN A HIGH VOTING CSI
It is very important to always assess your voting csi to ensure that it is not getting low.
A low voting csi, as I earlier explained shows that a user is giving low support to others.
Below are a few reasons you should maintain a high voting csi.
- Maintaining a high voting csi makes you more eligible for some privileges of service.
For example, a person with a low voting csi will not be appointed to be a country representative.
- Having a high voting csi increases your chances of being supported by others or better still, the curators.
As the saying goes "what goes around, comes around" so if you generously give out upvotes, it will be given back to you.
- In some Communities selected for the engagement challenge, one of the criteria to receive a high grade is a good voting pattern
CONCLUSION
Maintaining a high voting csi is very important, it helps to maintain the main purpose of steemit.
We shouldn't also forget that as we strive to maintain a high voting csi, we should also ensure that we check the eligibility of each account before upvoting.

I am glad that my post is of help to you, Thanks for visiting 💙
This is an amazing explanation of Voting CSI. Yeah ! I have heard about this statement that CR should support others by delegated SP. And glad to see that voting CSI is about 21 % . It is not easy to attain and maintain. You have maintained your Voting CSI. It is paramount for the growth of Steemit.
Steem on!
It makes me sad that those new will not receive upvotes unless they join a club. It takes time to figure this all out and I learned most Steemians aren't very helpful if it comes to explaining/showing one around.
Will the upvoter of a newbie, non club user be punished if it comes to his own CSI status?
@gertu @sacra97
Thank you. A hug
You are welcome
I discovered all these things about the club and so many more when I stopped writing in the CCC community. I came to the Latin pages and read a lot to be able to understand a little.
There are few people who make suggestions to find ways to move forward, but I also met very kind people, helpful to everyone and eager to help others grow, with those I stay.
Loyalty to those who reach out to us is rare these days.
If it comes to club100 it's different from what you said.
I find it bitter those not joining a club are abandoned. Does it effect us if we upvote someone not using a club tag?
There are many rules and for me it's hard to check each post if it's written by AI or plagiarism. So the only way to save time is by upvoting the Steemians you are sure of they write original content. This means you always vote for the same people. 🤔
