Will you accept the unwritten rules in order to succeed?
Would I accept unwritten rules in order to succeed?
Success has multiple dimensions. One of those dimensions is achieving success in one's personal life. The unwritten rule in this regard is that all must, after a certain age, fall in love, get married and have children.
It is expected that we will procreate in order to further the family line. As if we are these rare creatures who face the threat of extinction.
Will I accept this unwritten rule?
My answer is a resounding NO!
I do not want children. Never liked them, never could stand the noise or the mess they make. I have no desire to listen to the demonic "Baby Shark" song 100 times a day, nor do I wish to see chocolate stains on my furniture.
I'm also severely tokophobic, and just the thought of getting pregnant fills me with abject horror. The idea of growing another human being inside my body is nightmare fuel for me.
But most importantly, I do not have the emotional tools that are required for parenthood. Nor would my life goals be able to accommodate a child.
I often hear the common admonishments that society reserves for those who are childless by choice.
"Who will take care of you when you're old?"
Children are not a retirement plan. To have children just so you'd have someone to take care of you in old age is actually quite manipulative.
"You're so selfish!"
Yes. And? You just admitted that you see your kids as a retirement plan.
"You'll change your mind. You'll see"
A lot of people actually regret having children. So.....
"I hope you have children. Then you'll know true happiness."
Why would you wish that on a child? Why would you want children to be born to someone who doesn't want to raise them?
"But....your bloodline!"
What of it? Indira Gandhi's bloodline lives on and look at the state they're in!
Having said all this, I have nothing but the utmost respect for good parents. For those who are able and willing to properly care for their children. For those who raise them to become decent human beings.
I fully acknowledge the fact that parenthood, when done right, is the most difficult job in the world. Which is exactly why it isn't for everyone.
There are many ways of achieving personal success. Having children is but one of them. Happiness is achieved by doing what we want in life, and not by conforming to societal expectations.
... and you are making a decision that exactly one person can make. You yourself. This kind of unwritten rule that interferes with that is invasive and inhumane.
Nevertheless, I don't rule out that your opinion will change - but YOUR OPINION. Intrinsic. Without the need for any influence.
🤣 I love you and you sound like my daughter, two of them so I raised them well (says mom).

Hello, I have a silly question. How can i withdraw money from Steemit?
My wallet day my account is worth $101. Is that how much i can withdraw?
Im sorry to bother you. I just don't know who to ask.
Hi, I may be able to provide some brief information on this: You need an account with a crypto exchange such as Binance. Unfortunately, I don't know which one is the most practical choice in India. There you transfer the Steem you want to withdraw and exchange it for a currency that can be paid out in dollars or local currency. In this country, USDT or ETH would be a good choice... You can then sell them or have them transferred to a bank account.
I just checked your wallet: the $101 you mention is the approximate value of your SP and Steem combined. You only have approx. 10 STEEM that you could currently withdraw, which equates to around $2. The 335 SP become liquid through a Power Down. This is done in 4 instalments, which are credited over four weeks.
Thank you.
You already received your answer.
Binance is firbidden in my country and Bitvavo gave up on Steemit.
The idea is you transfer steem to an extern wallet able to receive Steem (the wallet gives you a memo key! ) and once in your wallet you should exchange it for... Or you save it there.
Are you leaving us?
No, no. I'm not leaving. I just wanted to know how to withdraw my earnings. Thank you. 😊😊
Well, my latest attemp didn't work. I struggled through the verification but they say ID okay, steemit wallet not and they verify my bankaccount I did not give!
Next to that I noticed they only use 5 or 6 banks and mine is no part of it.
Back to the drawing board or I move too...
One more question, if you don't mind. Are there other platforms like Steemit? That pay for fiction.
read.cash (bch) but it's a bit dead these days. Blurt (?) never been there believe not doing well. Palnet (its where my. pal behind the name stands for. I started at Weku (no idea if they still exist).
I also wrote at a Dutch platform (yoors pay in euro) but I could no longer read it with my phone because of the layout (you can post in English). Publish0x or something (long ago). I think @ pousinha might know them all or tried.
For (story) writers there are also writers' platforms.
Ok. Thank you!
This whole process is very complicated. 😅
Not if you know how or if registration isn't needed.
Let's hope the next generation of women will have the tools to make informed decisions about reproduction.
They have.. They raise but it's clearly done in the wrong way.
There's an expression: throwing the child awsy with the bathtub water...
I completely understand your perspective and decision. It is right to pursue your own ideas and not be swayed by common stereotypes. I know many people who do things and make important decisions just because they feel society imposes them, and I assure you they live unhappily. So, I comprehend and respect your position of not following these “unwritten rules.” It is crucial to find your own happiness by doing what you truly want, rather than conforming to others’ expectations.👋
Thank you!

I've cancelled the power down. It was a mistake.
