In me, the so-called “ good writer” is never been defined. I believe that all of us have unique abilities and characteristics in how we present our blog. What matters most is how we connect with our readers by delivering interesting stories. We are all good in our ways. The only difference is that if you are new to the world of blogging, there are things you need to learn and can't learn overnight. It is a process wherein you have to equip yourself for things that matter to a content creator.

I am creating this post to help anyone who is still struggling with how to create a Steemit post, especially Newcomers. These are only essential tips yet one of those effective ones.

Read, read, read and read a lot!

Connect yourself with other writers by reading their posts. Read and read until you understand the views of the writer. Also, reading other’s content will give you an idea of how to format your blogs and you will become well-adjusted to the genre that you are interested in. Inside and outside the Steemit platform there are lots of famous writers from whom you can learn lessons and techniques about blogging.

Use helpful tools that could improve your writing

The most famous app that will easily detect your misspelled words and corrects your grammatical error is the Grammarly app. You can download it for free. I can attest that this tool is very helpful because I've been using this ever since I started blogging in Steemit. For the plagiarism checker, I used Smallseotool and Duplichecker. My advice to avoid plagiarism, you must check your post first because it is inevitable that there are similar words in your content even though it originally came from you. For image enhancement use Canva. You can have it for free or if you want to unlock the other features you can choose to pay it monthly.

Those three easy-to-use tools will surely help you beautify your blogs. Just explore its features for you to use it more effectively.

Know your theme

You should be writing content that is informative and has a valuable theme to your reader's perspective, not only to yours. Make your story straightforward and avoid too many twists and turns or flowery words. It will only distort the actual information you wanted to relay. Make your theme attractive to readers especially the title of your story and the first paragraph. Most readers will get bored when your introduction is already boring and will not continue to read your content anymore, so make a catchy theme!

Know your goal

You are not just making a post for nothing. Your first goal is to create content worthy of your reader's valuable time. You must ask the following questions to yourself,

  • Does my content connects with my reader?

  • What brings a reader to my blog?

  • What does a reader feel after reading my content?

Your first goal as a blogger is to prefer blogs that are easy to digest and full of fun. Do not make blogs that only add stress to your reader or use words that are difficult to understand. It won't make them interested.

Express yourself

In the world of blogging, you don't need to pretend like you are somebody, or you sound like somebody else. Instead, be yourself! This platform is open to anybody despite our standard of living or educational background as long as our minds are open to learning more and ready to follow any rules that the Steemit Team implemented. We are also free to express ourselves by engaging with communities and sharing our opinions on certain topics through comments. Here on Steemit, we can even use our native language or any language that makes us comfortable.

Lastly, to the Newcomers, I would like to remind you that the upvotes of our posts are uncertain. Just remember this saying that goes, “a good writer never seeks rewards, instead they write because they love to express their inner voice”. Enjoy creating content by using the tips that I've shared. Who knows one day you'll just be shocked by how far you've gone already.
