Let's talk about Fela Kuti, creator of Afrobeats - Part One
Within the musical genres there are some ramifications, derivations, or whatever you want to call them, the point is that there are currently a number of genres and styles in all the arts that can satisfy practically all tastes.
However, there are some punks that do not conform to what there is and want to experience other things, sometimes they turn out well and even creation evolves beyond what they expected, until it becomes something of worldly recognition.
Such is the case of this music genre I want to talk about. It has African roots, and having that origin it simply (consider) arises from the place from which everything we know as humanity started, although unfortunately it is somewhat abandoned...
I'm here to talk to you about the music genre:
Afrobeats
We owe their creation to the Nigerian artist FELA KUTI. A masterful musician who was able to play several instruments (percussion, wind, strings.) with an incredible feat. His birth name was "Olufela Olusegun Oludotun Ransome-Kuti ", he was born on October 15, 1938 in Abeokuta (Nigeria) and his life in this earthly world ended on August 2, 1997, but her legacy remains. Very much alive.
Within his life, it should be noted that he was a great human rights activist. That he is among the most important musicians in Africa, among his children there are two who have also dedicated themselves to music (Femi Kuti and Seun Kuti). His mother was an important character within the feminist and anti-colonialist world and his father was a great pianist. Here are his musical and activist influences.
At some point in his life he wanted to study medicine (good thing he didn't), which is why in 1958 he moved to England to be able to do it, however the passion and love for music got the better of him so he changed the medical school to the Trinity College of Music, and here the story began.
With his newly formed band he started his musical career, the band was called Koola Lobitos, and they played basically Afrobeat, style that was created by Fela Kuti. Which is a combination of jazz, highlife, Yoruba music, and funk.
To not make this first part so extensive, I'm concluding, but I want to leave what is considered one of his greatest hits, within the album Zombie, this the song of the same name that is in the list of the 100 best songs of Time magazine.

In the second part I want to detail a little bit the characteristics of this musical genre, which I found particularly interesting, also because of the long duration of all the songs, generally more than 8 minutes, I don't think it's commercial at all, and I also know that it's not music that everybody likes, but it's music for the world.

Hi Jose...this is an excellent review of Fela, he's also known to be a visionary in music here in Nigeria, till date, his lyrics are still portraying the happenings of the state in the country politically. His music remains relevant and a lot of warnings he gave are coming to light even after his death. A legend indeed.

Yes, there is jazz, unquestionably. But I particularly like this rhythm, because it has depth in the message, in the rhythm. It's not a common thing, thank you for commenting @pouchonn.tribes

That would be good, of course. Although one per discord communicates, but if it is a messaging app proper of the tribe, it would be an attribute that would add more value, for its usefulness.

Discord is useful for many people to establish a relationship, and it's good, because there are even many projects through it. But, as you say, it's not here.
If reggaesteem succeeds, it will be much better than it already is.
