Hell friends of SteemFoods hope you’re all having a nice week start. I would love to share with you all a little recipe that’s very close to my heart since is something I’ve eaten since I was a kid. This recipe is as Venezuelan as it gets and it’s pretty easy to prepare. All you really need is precooked corn flour and the result will surprise and I’m sure you’re going to want to try it more often. Hope you guys enjoy this recipe.

INGREDIENTS

Precooked corn flour 🌽
Water
Salt

First grab a bowl and add some water to it, it depends on how many arepas you want to prepare. Also add a bit of salt to it.

Add the flour and mix with your hands until you get a soft and easy to work with dough. Some people live to add egg here and it also works pretty well, it makes it softer.

This is the shape we’re going to give it with our hands. Put it in the pan previously covered with a bit of vegetable oil.

To fill my arepas I mixed a bit of tuna and mayonesa for my lactose intolerant roommate.

For me I had some mozzarella (which I absolutely love)

This is how the arepas look after they’re cooked. And I also show you the way I prepare them in the following pictures. You can literally have them with anything you want them. They go well with everything.

I drank a lemonade juice which I love cause it gives me that vitamin C we all need.

As you can see it’s not hard to make so I hope you can try this at home. Is is delicious and also gluten free, you will love it. Please let me know if you try it.

Thank you all for taking part of your time to read my post and comment. Hope you’re all having a wonderful week even though is just starting. Until next time 🤗
