My Favourite Celebration Meal: Rice and Beef Stew

Hello steemians, Welcome to my blog .Today, I am very happy to participate in this contest. Once again I want to thank the @steemfoods moderator @alikoc07 for the contest. As a lover of food I am glad to participate in the contest which is my favourite celebration meal.

My favourite celebratory meal is rice and beef

Rice and beef stew is my favourite celebration meal. They're nice and easily cooked It can be cooked in different kinds of meal. They also act as a subordinate to others in a meal e.g beans. It has served as a yummy meal for my family and also health wise based on the nutritional and health benefits

However, rice is one of the favourite Nigeria celebratory food which is been prepared in any of the occasion. But one thing is sure that there are different ways it's been prepared and garnished. Some uses the rice to prepare fried rice, Jollof rice, Coconut rice, rice and stew, and many other more.

To make the white rice yummy as well as to look sumptuous and tempting to devour, I prepared delicious beef stew.

To cook a meal of rice and beef stew, Nigerian do prepare this meal in two ways. And one of the ways would detail on how to cook your white rice. While the second way of the meal detail on how to prepare beef stew.

Check the above ingredients used to make this meal real before giving details on how to prepare it.

Preparation of porridge plantain, and potato with fluted pumpkin leaf.


The combination of plantain, and potato with fluted pumpkin leaf is very tasty and yummy. Potato and plantain are nice and easily cooked, they can be cooked in different kinds of meal. So I would like you to try this combination which I have prepared today in this article.

Check the ingredients that I used and how I prepared the meal.

Ingredients.

  • 5 Cups of White rice
  • 10 pieces of Fresh Pepper
  • 2 Seasoning cubes(maggi )
  • 1 cup of dried Crayfish
  • Taste of Salt
  • 2 Sachet of Kings Oil
  • 1 Ginger root
  • 5 bulb of Onions
  • 1/2Turmeric
  • fresh Fresh Tomatoes
  • 3 Clove Glaric
  • 2 Sachet of tomatoes paste
  • Beef meat

Preparation

These are the following first steps to apply.


  • Parboil your rice for about 3 minutes, and this is done by first lighting up the stove, placed the cooking pot on the fire and poured little water into it. Allow the water to boil. Then add the rice and allow to boil.

  • After parboiling the rice, bring the cooking pot down and use the sieve to wash the rice at least thrice. While washing the rice, put adequate water into the cooking pot and place it on fire to boil.

  • After washing the rice, put it back into the cooking pot and add salt to taste. Allow the rice to simmer
  • If the rice are soft enough to be eaten and once the water in it dries, you can now bring the cooking pot down.

Note: The minutes to cook the rice varies because it depends on the cooker, as some like gas cooker is more faster than the stove. Also the species of rice differs as some can easily be done faster than others.

  • Wash, and chop the fresh tomatoes, and onions.

  • wash the fresh pepper, and crayfish then use the mortal and pestle to pound it. After that free up the mortal in order to use it to pound other items.

  • Peel, wash,and chop the turmeric, ginger, and garlic. Then pound it with the mortal and pestle.

  • wash the beef meat thoroughly and put it in a cooking pot. Then add 1 cube of maggi seasoning, chopped onions, fresh pepper, and salt to taste and put the pot on fire. Allow to cook till it becomes soft enough to be eaten. Immediately the meat is soft, bring the pot down and empty it.

Note: The meat should be kept in a clean plate alongside the sauce.

These are the second steps to apply.


For the Stew Preparation

  • put your clean and dried empty pot on the fire. Allow to the pot to get hot.


When added the kings oil

  • pour the kings oil in the pot and allow it to get hot before adding your sliced onions and chopped fresh tomatoes into it. After adding all these stir the mixtures and allow to cook til the the water from the fresh tomatoes gets dried.

  • put the meat without the sauce and add the pounded fresh pepper and crayfish in to the cooking pot. Stir with your spoon so that the mixture doesn't goes bottom of the pot.

  • Add the sachet tomatoes paste, stir and allow to cook for at least 3 minutes.

  • Add the water from the sieve turmeric, ginger, and garlic alongside the meat sauce.

  • Add a cube of maggi seasoning, and salt to taste. Allow to cook for about 5 minutes. Then take the cooking pot down.

  • You can now Pour the beef stew onto your rice and enjoy
