One of my favorite movies of all time is The Dark Knight

Yes, it is somewhat cliche to have a Batman Movie be your favorite movie, but if you have seen this movie, it was so much more than just a Batman Movie.

It was the second installment of a 3 part Batman series, with the lead played by Christian Bale.

I am not normally a huge fan of Mr. Bale's, but he rocked it in this flick.

Though, he actually wasn't the star of the show, not by a long shot.

The real star of this movie was...

The Joker, which was played by Heath Ledger.

Sadly this was also a final role of his as it was said that he had to get into an extremely dark place in order to accurately depict the mentally tortured Joker.

Some believe this lead to his ultimate death as he accidentally overdosed on prescription medications.

Anyways, why I liked this film, it did an amazing job of tying the fantasy world of Batman with the real world that was Gothem City (or more likely an imitation of New York City).

It didn't feel like a super hero movie to me, it felt like a real life drama.

There were no flying men with super powers battling mutants from other planets, no it was a rich dude who wanted to make a change, and doing so by taking on the underbelly of society.

And the director nailed it.

In fact it was so inspiring that just about every time I watched it, it motivated me and inspired me to do better and be better. It has even encouraged me to start a few workout routines over the years, though sadly I could not stick with them for very long, though that is a story for another day. :)

I saw this film for the first time in the theaters with a friend of mine.

We both had the same impression as we walked away, that it was a 10 out of 10.

Over the years, I have probably seen that movie a total of 12 times at this point, with at least 4 of those happening with that same friend I initially saw it with.

It became a past time for us when we would get together if the TV was turned on...

"Hey, you wanna watch Dark Knight?"

And the answer was almost always the same...

Absolutely I do!
