It's a terrestrial orchid. Its genus is Spathoglottis Plicata. The appearance of the plant is simple, the peculiar thing is its flower, purple in color and with the simplicity of its cultivation in pots.

The terrestrial orchid, has long, sharp and narrow leaves. It has a corrugated relief. Dark green. They start from the ovoid bulb, from where the floral stem also emerges. This bulb is its form of reproduction.

The flower has five petals, three lower ones arranged in a triangular shape, they are elongated and wide. And the upper petals are two, a little wider than the lower petals. From the center of the flower, four small very small and elongated petals overlap, but the lower one projects forward in the form of a tongue or arrow, which gives it the characteristic of the orchid. The floral surface shows a frosty shine.

Es una orquídea terrestre. Su género es la Spathoglottis Plicata. El aspecto de la planta es sencillo, lo peculiar es su flor, de color púrpura y con la simpleza de su cultivo en macetas.

La orquídea terrestre, tiene hojas alargadas, afiladas y estrechas. Tiene un relieve corrugado. De color verde oscuro. Parten desde el bulbo ovoide, de donde también emerge el tallo floral. Este bulbo es su forma de reproducción.

La flor presenta cinco pétalos, tres inferiores dispuestos en forma triangular, son alargadas y anchas. Y los pétalos superiores son dos, un poco más anchos que los pétalos inferiores. Desde el centro de la flor se superponen cuatro pequeños pétalos muy pequeños y alargados, pero el inferior se proyecta hacia adelante en forma de lengueta o flecha, que le da la característica de la orquídea. La superficie floral muestra un brillo como escarchado.

To reproduce the plant, just grab a bulb together with its already formed leaf and transplant. It's an undemanding plant in terms of the care it needs. It should not have a waterlogged soil. It is enough to place water three times a week AND keep the plant in semi-shade condition, that is, exposed to the sun but not directly.

The substrate must contain enough organic fertilizer along with aerated soil, with gravel and sand. So that the roots can move easily and the water is not retained.

Para reproducir la planta solo se debe agarrar a un bulbo junto con su hoja ya formada y trasplantar. Es una planta poco exigente en cuanto a los cuidados que necesita. No debe tener la tierra encharcada. Basta con colocar agua tres veces por semana Y mantener la planta en condición de semisombra o sea con exposición al sol pero no directa.

El sustrato debe contener suficiente abono orgánico junto a una tierra aireada, con grava y arena. Para que las raíces puedan moverse con facilidad y el agua no se retenga.
