Hola… ¿qué tal todos?, por aquí en Venezuela ya estamos en el día 39 de la cuarentena. Sin embargo, aunque ya solo faltan un día, para alcanzar los 40 días de aislamiento social, a ciencia cierta, no se tiene perspectivas reales de cuando terminará el confinamiento. La situación cada vez es más compleja, por los antecedentes de mi país. Realmente no la estábamos pasando bien, y ahora mucho menos. Pero, bueno dejemos hasta aquí este tema por hoy, de nada sirve regodearnos en nuestra tragedia. Mejor, hablemos de cosas sabrosas, de COMIDA, rica y suculenta. Los amigos del equipo de Steemit, de la mano del usuario @steemitblog en el día 18 de su campaña 100 DÍAS DE STEEM, nos traen la 3era entrega de su concurso semanal de escritura. Hello... how are you all? Here in Venezuela we are already on the 39th day of the quarantine. Como ya saben soy venezolana, por supuesto por mis venas corre el gusto hacia la gastronomía tradicional de mi amado país. Quién se puede resistir a unas ricas Empanadas, y ni hablar de nuestra multisápida Hallaca, con el más puro aroma a navidad y a reunión familiar. ¡Dios!... y que decir de unas ricas morcillas o unos chorizos Carupaneros, bien tostaditos, imposible rechazar semejante manjar. Sin olvidar, a nuestro insigne plato emblema de la gastronomía nacional, el rey de reyes, nuestro Pabellón Criollo. Esto por solo nombrar algunos de mangares que conforman la extensa gama de nos ofrece nuestra cocina nacional.

As you know I am Venezuelan, of course through my veins runs the taste for the traditional cuisine of my beloved country. Who can resist a few delicious Empanadas, not to mention our multisapid “Hallaca”, with the purest aroma of Christmas and family reunion. God!... and what about some delicious black pudding or some “Carupanero” sausages, well toasted, impossible to refuse such a delicacy. Not to mention our famous dish, the king of kings, our “Pabellón Criollo”. This is just to name some of the mangos that make up the wide range of our national cuisine.

Pero, debo confesarles un terrible y vergonzoso secreto, aunque me gusta mucho la comida venezolana, claro lo llevo en la sangre. Quien hace que mis tripitas, salten de emoción, es la PIZZA. Si, lo sé, eso se llama traición, pero ni modo, ni en el corazón y mucho menos en el estómago se manda. Ellos tienen la última palabra, es más, de solo evocarla en mi memoria se me hace agua la boca. En cuanto a la masa, me declino por las de masa gruesa y esponjosa, es delicioso, mojar las orillas en mantequillas aderezada o en salsa de tomate. Los ingredientes en cielo es el límite, soy de mente abierta, jajaja, aunque me fascina, las combinaciones que incluyen el Jamón Serrano o Prosciutto. Pero si el presupuesto no me acompaña, como se ha vuelto una constante últimamente, tocinetas o pepperoni, son una opción excelente. Por supuesto, no debe faltar las cebollas y pimientos cortados en juliana, y si se puede incluir unos cuantos champiñones, son la cereza del pastel.

But, I must confess a terrible and shameful secret, although I like Venezuelan food very much, of course it is in my blood. The one that makes my guts jump for joy is the PIZZA. Yes, I know, that's called treason, but no way, not in the heart and much less in the stomach. They have the last word, moreover, just to evoke it in my memory makes my mouth water. As for the dough, I'll go for the thick, spongy ones; it's delicious, dipping the edges in seasoned butter or tomato sauce. The ingredients in heaven are the limit, I'm open-minded, hahaha, although I'm fascinated by combinations that include Serrano Ham or Prosciutto. But if the budget is not with me, as it has become a constant lately, bacon or pepperoni, are an excellent choice. Of course, you should not miss the onions and peppers cut in julienne, and if you can include a few mushrooms, they are the cherry on the cake.

En nuestra familia, se ha convertido en la opción favorita para degustar en cumpleaños, reuniones con amigos, en fin, siempre hay un motivo válido para comer PIZZA. Mis hijas las adoran, es más, les tengo una anécdota escolar de mi hija mayor. Resulta que, en el colegio, cada vez que mi hija tenía que llevar algún refrigerio, para compartir con sus compañeritos de clase y la maestra le preguntaban, que podía llevar, ella decía, “YO TRAIGO PIZZA MAESTRA, MI PAPÁ LAS HACE MUY RICA”. Que tal, más de una vez, nos puso en carreras, pero, ni modo tocaba, buscar el tiempo para prepararlas, y rogando, que no hubiese dicho lo mismo, en la Academia de Música o la de Flamenco, porque sería varias las pizzas, jajajajaja. Pero, siempre la terminábamos haciendo con mucho gusto, sobre todo, porque a la final, tocaba comer también PIZZA en casa. Con nuestra debilidad familiar, por tan deliciosa, polifacética y practica creación culinaria, a la final todos somos felices.

In our family, it has become the favorite option to taste in birthdays, meetings with friends, in short, there is always a valid reason to eat PIZZA. My daughters love them, in fact, I have a school story about my eldest daughter. At school, every time my daughter had to bring a snack to share with her classmates and the teacher asked her what she could bring, she said, "I bring master pizza, my dad makes it so good. More than once, she put us in the race, but she didn't even have time to prepare it, and she prayed that she wouldn't have said the same thing at the Music Academy or the Flamenco Academy, because there would be several pizzas, hahahaha. But, we always ended up making it with great pleasure, especially because in the end, it was time to eat PIZZA at home too. With our family weakness, for such a delicious, multifaceted and practical culinary creation, in the end we are all happy.
