Tree or twig?
Or liberty, or firmness ought I seize?
To root immovable, or wand'ring roam
I ponder with all gravity the breeze
and contemplate with levity the loam.
A fastness in the likeness of a ship
I fancy built of mist cold, diamond-fine:
so sail I in the cloud, and sway and tip
through course imag'native of my design.
Yet ponderous the beam of amb'ring dusk
who grave, though with good cheer my vessel rends;
light scours and dispels my false-made husk
and down to waiting earth my vessel sends.
A specimen to prize by watchful sky
or sentinel eternal—which be I?

A poem to ponder for sure.
I tend to sentinel eternal, a mother who fears leaving her children motherless more than anything else. Is my husk false made? Better to stay at the dock and never find out.
If I've read this right. Which of course does not matter one whit, because it's got my mind chewing on it.
