Garden Views: The Beauty of Strawflowers!
Summertime means that there are lots of things happening in our garden.
I had some small seedlings I actually thought were dwarf snapdragons, but they turned out to actually be Strawflowers.
Strawflowers are interesting in the sense that they are actually grown to be dried flowers.
Even after you pick them and dry them, they hold their shapes and most of their color.
I was familiar with them from many years ago, but back then they were almost always "earthtones" in mostly orange and brown.
I had not seen such brightly purple and magenta blooms before.
Clearly, the plant development has come a long way in the last 30 years, with new strains and species.
Definitely plan to research these further and grow some more next year.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look!
