Baikal. Part 4. Walk in the taiga

This view opened to the left of our house. It was shot later, when the sky cleared and the sun warmed the earth. And on the first day we went for a walk in the village and look at the taiga.

Этот вид открывался в левую сторону от нашего дома. Он снят позже, когда небо очистилось и солнце согрело землю. А в первый день мы отправились прогуляться в деревушку и посмотреть на тайгу.

It was important for us to find food and look around a bit to understand that there is something interesting. Although everything was interesting to us.

Нам было важно найти еду и немного осмотреться, чтобы понять, что тут есть интересного. Хотя интересным для нас было всё.

The village was small, the houses were mostly old wooden. Small gardens and some kind of farm. It was clear that people were doing business, living modestly, but in an orderly manner. There was no hopelessness and devastation that could be found in such a wilderness. Even the dogs were friendly. We bought pies in some shop. But our goal was the forest.

Деревушка была небольшой, дома в основном старые деревянные. Небольшие огороды и какое-то хозяйство. Было видно, что люди занимаются делом, живут скромно, но упорядоченно. Не было безнадёжности и разрухи, которую можно было бы застать в такой глуши. Даже собаки были дружелюбными. Мы купили пирогов в какой-то лавочке. Но нашей целью был лес.

We moved along the gorge, which here is called the pad". A small river, which is more like a stream, flowed along this valley. Once upon a time, gold was even washed on it. I tried to search for something, but, of course, I did not find anything.

Мы двигались по ущелью, которое тут называют падью. Небольшая речка, которая скорее тянет на ручей, струилась по этой пади. Когда-то на ней даже мыли золото. Я попробовал что-то поискать, но, конечно, ничего не нашёл.

The inscription on the plate reads: "Attention, a bear has appeared in the pad (ravine), be careful!"
Of course, this did not stop us. Looking ahead, I’ll say that we never met a bear. This is probably good.

Надпись на табличке гласит: "Внимание, в пади появился медведь, будьте осторожны!"
Конечно, это нас не остановило. Забегая вперёд скажу, что медведя мы так и не встретили. Наверное это хорошо.

I have already mentioned that we did not have any forest equipment with us. We didn’t even have warm clothes. And we took a felt blanket on a camping trip. I understand why we did not meet a bear. He was scared to see us.

Раньше я уже упоминал, что у нас не было с собой никакого лесного снаряжения. У нас не было даже тёплой одежды. И мы брали в поход байковое одеяло. Я понимаю, почему мы не встретили медведя. Он боялся нашего вида.

Cedars, spruce, birch and larch. This is taiga. And also a taiga tick. But this is a separate sad story. I will tell her later.

Кедры, ели, берёзы и лиственницы. Это и есть тайга. А ещё таёжный клещ. Но это отдельная грустная история. Я её расскажу позже.

And we also found strawberries, butterflies and much more. I will continue this story in future posts.

А ещё мы нашли землянику, бабочек и много ещё чего. Я продолжу этот рассказ в следующих публикациях
