May 18 oil pastel painting.

Hello friends,

Did anyone notice how the weather is getting worse? I think, cloudy and rainy days make me feel sleepy and slow. I keep falling asleep in the afternoon. I’m surprised that my kids are wide awake ready to play and be active during this weather.

Well, tonight I had enough energy to do some art.

I initially was planning to use my new pencils, but their brightness wasn’t enough for my mood, so I switched to my old oil pastel set.

Materials

Faber Castel, Goldenfaber pencils

Red craft paper

Eraser

“Pentel” oil pastel set

I started to make a sketch with a white pencil.

Then, I was working on a water surface.

I switched to the sky to see how the same blue pencil would look there. I also started working on the sunlight.

I took a brake, and changed my mind. I wanted my colors to be brighter. That’s when I switched to the oil pastel.

After blending it with a piece of paper towel, I still thought it’s not bright enough and added more layers of oil pastel.

Now, I like it better!
