Prompt Alert: Is Experience the best teacher? What's your take?

There was a girl called Lola, Lola is the only child of her parents and she grow up with her Father in one of the local villages in Jos. During her university days, she falls in love with this young man who loves and cares for her. Their love story was known by almost all the people around them. After their university, it was unfortunate that the two were posted in different locations to serve their father's land at NYSC Lola was very heartbroken because she wanted to serve in the same place with her guy.

Even due they had an agreement with her guy that if anyone is posted to a far land that person will relocate back to the nearest state of the other. So Lola was having a little hope that she can relocate and go back as planned after the camping, she tried but the relocation did not work out so she served at the state she was posted.

During her service year, she meet different people who are interested in her but she never gave them listening ears because she felt her relationship with her guy was not something she can compromise. She kept herself and didn't involve in any relationship. After some months, her guy started acting strange, he don't call, or message again Lola was worried about the whole scenario so she called her guy to find out what was going on but he left her with numerous excuses, she cried all night thinking about him. She even asked him to come over as he promised her but he said he can't and when she asked him whether to come to the place he declined.

After some days, she saw his video with this particular girl on social media, the position in which they did the video was questionable so when Lola called and asked, the only thing he said to her was “Cant someone posts the video again, or is it a crime to post such video” she kept mode without saying anything. After some days she received a call from the same lady telling her that she should stay away from her man, she also said she know everything about Lola and the guy. So for her to be on the safer side she should stop disturbing them with calls.

Lola was so heartbroken because the number that called her was her guy's line. She was frustrated with the whole issue but to be on the safer side she called the guy to find out if what the lady said is true, hummmmm. He was not able to say a word because he was already guilty.

After some months of loneliness and heartbreak, she made a guy who showed her what true love is, but she was scared because she don't want what happened to her in the past should repeat itself but the man was always there to support her at all costs. She is madly in love with this man that she can't go a day without thinking about him. She was very happy being around this man because he always makes her happy.

Days later her former guy called her and apologize for everything he did to her. And he told her that the lady he was with is his sister and that everything that happened was a prank. Hmmm, the lady in question still called her and told her how her brother truly loves her, also she pleaded that Lola should accept her brother back. Lola was confused and she told them that she had moved on after everything they did to her, but the guy was insisting to the extent he came down to the states where Lola was serving but it was too late for him.

She was already in love with another and she can't hurt him simply because her guy came back to her. Hmmm, now I know the reason why they said “you won't know the value of what you have until you lose it.” indeed experience is the best teacher.

Lola's guy did not value their relationship, to him it was a prank but he never know the damage he caused. I know for sure he will not take things for granted that's if he finally finds another true love like Lola because he has learned his lesson. We should always be mindful of the things we do, we may see others doing it but yet they won't have any issues but by the time we decide to try it then we end up regretting it in the end. Truly Experience is the best teacher.

In conclusion, this story is a true life story, not fiction, Lola is my best friend here in Kwara state and she went through a lot with her guy but I'm glad she is very much happy now with her newfound love and very soon she will be called Mrs.
