Hello community friends, It is great joining the week 4 contest of this season's engagement challenge. Home appliances are somewhat inevitable tools that help to facilitate the daily, routine, or occasional activities in our different homes. There are some we cannot do without on a daily basis, there are others that we use sparingly but also serve the purposes of a great deal in home.

There are countless of these appliances which if given the opportunity to write about would be unending but those ones that stand out would be highlighted for the purposes of this engagement challenge. Let's get started, friends...

My choice of this home appliance is basically gender-related or likes/hobbies affinity. My top 2 home appliances are;

• Washing Machine
• Laundry Iron
• Rechargeable Standing Fan
• My Television Set

I may not be your usual user who would have mentioned those kitchen-related appliances that would have aided the cooking of meals that bring satisfaction. They would ordinarily still be selected if given a chance to choose more appliances, but for the sake of writing on one or two, I can deal with the above-mentioned for now. They have remained daring and always come through for me when needed to make quick adjustments and relax.

The Washing Machine has been one of the Dearing home appliances that I've always wanted to have at any point in time due to the role and convenience it brings to me given my type of job that gets me exhausted after the day's activities. My first buy of this product was the manual type which didn't give me the desired result not until I got an automatic model of this appliance.

	Favorite Home Appliance - The automatic washing machine

The Laundry Iron is another home appliance that was crucial for me, especially during emergency moments to tidy up alternative dress code moments that may not have been handled by the laundry guy. I also had to replace the first purchase that I made due to its quick damage to my clothing. I had to buy the commercial laundry model that is calm and cool when in use.

The Rechargeable Standing Fan has been a good buy for the home as I had to buy two of these home appliances for other rooms in the apartment to also enjoy the luxury it gives especially during power outages.

The Television Set is a common home appliance but for me, it means more as this is my source of relaxation each time I come back from a busy day schedule. It does more than just its physical presence for sightseeing in the home.

These are some of the functions of my preferred home appliances;

• Washing Machine:

This is one of man's best tools at home especially when issues bothering hygiene are concerned and easy to do so. For some of us in the tropical where we have both the rains and harmattan accompanied by scorching sunlight, it is obvious we are easily stained from weather effects or sweat from the sunny environment. This makes us wash almost on a daily basis or pill them up for a free day of laundry time. This depends on one's preference.

Therefore the washing machine is a saving grace other than the manual way that brings about more stress after the day's work, which the machine could have handled uninterrupted and with less stress. What I do is just plug in the washing machine, insert my clothes, and press the button to wash.

It helps me wash, rinse, and spin to dry for me all at once. Therefore, I do not recall having to do much work here other than just plug the appliance into a power source and forget the rest of the process. I can get busy with other activities of the day while that handles itself.

Highlights of its function:

• Brings comfort and convenience at all times

• Requires less attention and human activity to handle

• Can be dependable in times of emergency where a given linen is to be used

• It is durable and lasts over time while performing its function of cleaning

• It aids personal hygiene by keeping our wardrobes in good shape.

• Laundry Iron:

Another great home appliance is the laundry iron. This is one tool that has no replacement or alternative except for those who want to use the local charcoal iron. But ultimately and for those who stay in the township, the use of electric iron is predominant.

One of the major functions of the laundry iron is to help strengthen wrinkle clothes for use. Most of the time, our clothes get rumpled after washing, and if not ironed, doesn't give us the desired fittings and looks in the public space.

My top two listed appliances are used bi-weekly or in some cases daily for the washing machine. I do not but the idea of leaving my clothes dirty and pilled up in the collection bin, putting them in the washing machine, and giving a button command does justice to it.

The use of the laundry iron, I get engaged with it mostly during weekends. On some occasions, it could happen once during weekdays and majorly during weekends.

	Laundry Iron -Another great Home Appliance that Makes me look smart

I usually have to interface with one of these home appliances on a daily basis. It's either I'm doing the washing immediately or I'm dropping the used clothes for the day. If I'm not washing immediately, it's probably due to a power outage but the clothes have to remain in there until the power comes. So, there is barely a day that passes without interfacing with the washing machine.

My first washing machine which was the manual model was purchased sometime whereas it's replacement for an automatic model was purchased sometime in 2020.

Current Values:

Due to the present inflation in the economy, the prices of these items have risen astronomically. The cost of a single piece of Laundry iron is about 17,000 NGN (100 steem). The same model of the manual washing machine (3KG) is about 65,000 NGN (382.35 steem). The Automatic washing machine (9KG) is priced over 250,000 (1470.59 steem).

In conclusion, home appliances are ma's helping hand in ensuring that life is made easy hence by bringing comfort and convenience at all times.
