Greeting esteemed steemians, it's my utmost happiness to be part of this contest organized by @samhie. The theme "Punctuality" is the prime issue of people round the world. In an event that was scheduled at the particular time, there are three types of people; people who are there before time, those who are there on time and other who comes in behind time. All these people with different time zones encompasses around Punctuality. Does this really the person involved? Is it really good to be punctual to work, school, events and other places? In this article, let's dig deeper into this.

My View on Punctuality

Punctuality is the act of one keeping to time in any events or place he/she finds himself or herself. For instance, if an occasion is scheduled to hold by 8am, then a person is few minutes before 8am or exact 8am then the person is punctal.
It is so important that even schools has a leader called Punctuality Prefect who checks lateness among students.

Punctuality to me is like a way of life because it is what I practiced everyday. My parents do ring punctuality to my ears like a bell. In their words, they do say "I know African time is real but be that African that do keep to time". So far, I have adopt this philosophy as my lifestyle.

Importance of Punctuality

Punctuality is sometimes underrated but it has many amazing importance. This will be analyzed here:

  • Preferential Attention to it's devotee: A person who is punctual to an occasion or any other places get attentions and his/her needs are attended to. Taking a Traditional Marriage as a case study. A person who goes to the event earlier get the attention of the couples and they are quickly attended to. But the set that comes in late might not get the attention they really need.
  • Quicker Understanding: In a university or school's setting, students who come to lectures early get more information from the lecturers. This will give the person more chances to ask questions. But the other set who come on late get limited information and knowledge.
Reduced Stress and Anxiety: In an examination environment, it is noticed that students who arrived at the examination center earlier has time to cool off the anxiety of the examination. This single act can boost their confidence and performance in the examination. Other who come in late will be stressed out and it will affect them negatively.

My Perspective About This Expression "The Early Bird Catch The Worm"

The expression "The Early Bird get the worm" is a quote that has been with the human beings for ages. As usual, this quote is used to motivate and enlighten people on the importance of punctuality. As the quote entails, the bird who wake early get the worm first. Those check on it later the day has a lower probability of finding it. This is similar to the Human world.

Opportunities are available but people who obeys the rules of punctuality get it. This opportunities are available no doubts but people who prepare for it before time has chances of getting it. In general, I'll say that this expression is totally true.

Do I Agree On This Quote "It's Better Late Than Never"

This expression might not acceptable by me. So, I partially accepted this quote. This is my reasons;

  • Some occasions doesn't permit lateness. So, going there is of no use.
  • In the other hand, going there late is better than not attending it at all. Imagine a parents whose two kids has a function at different places in the same time. It is important to attend the both even if being late at the latter.

In conclusion, Punctuality shouldn't be underrated anymore. Rather, we should adopt it as a lifestyle therefore eliminating African time from our genes.

I can see you honored my invite.😊

Of course, early birds gets the worm but even the late birds tend to get the worm at times.
The worm (benefits) isn't always restricted to who comes first.

In the normal setting, the early birds get the worm (benefits). But the present world system don't care who came first and that should be taken care of. Thanks for adding value to my post.
