I welcome everyone to another great day in the New year and also to another beautiful day in the steemit platform. We all are aware that the steemit engagement challenge will soon begin as though the respectful communities for the engagement challenge has been selected through the publication of @steemitblog and the notification can be accessed Here.

Before the kickoff of the Steem engagement challenge season 7, I will like to intimate us regarding what the engagement challenge entails and of what purpose is it.

Many newbies are not aware of the purpose of the steemit engagement challenge, to them they think it is just a challenge that one can come and participate and then either win or be voted. It is beyond just participating to get votes from the curators.

So today, I will place my focus on this topic as I get to explain the purpose of the steemit engagement challenge. So stay with me as I begin.

WHAT IS THE STEEMIT ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE?

The Steemit engagement challenge is a challenge that is organized for steemians in the steemit platform. It is a challenge that is scheduled in 7 different communities that are selected by which each community will come up with different topic for users to participate in.

It is done in a free and fair system as though transparency is seen. The contest is being graded according to a user's performance of participation and explanation regarding the given topic and on the last day, each community will then come up with 3 winners who emerged victorious among other users regarding the contest to be given an outstanding price from the chief curator in person of STEEMCURATOR01.

But subsequently, valid entries will get support upon creating quality articles regarding the contest from various curators and from also the STEEMCURATOR01 AND STEEMCURATOR02.

And the respectful topics given are topics that can be attempted by users in this platform. So the contest is scheduled to begin soon as we are expected to stay put and await the information from @steemitblog for more updates regarding the contest.

THE PURPOSE OF ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE IN THE STEEMIT PLATFORM.

Previously, the only community that engagement is seen is the SteemitCryptoAcademy. It is a community where cryptocurrency related topics are discussed intensively. The community have several professors that take lessons and upon the completion of the teachings, they give out homework for users to participate in other to make sure that the lessons are well understood.

And after the grading of the users homework post by the professors, the chief curators known as STEEMCURATOR01 AND STEEMCURATOR02 then comes to support users posts after the posts has been graded.

So the engagement in the platform was now sided to the crypto academy community and as such every other community was not considered and much engagement was not noticed in other communities.

And also before one could participate, for every season there are criteria for participation. There is increase in reputation and Steem Power if a user must participate. So one must meet the necessary criteria else such user can not participate in the academy.

So it began to affect other communities users engagement and participation, the whole thing became tiring as we saw many communities with fewer subscribers because most users were only concentrating and participating majorly in the crypto academy community.

So the Steemit team decided to halt the teachings in the steemit crypto academy community which stopped at season 6 and as such, the steemit engagement challenge became their verdict in the steemit platform.

And today, most communities now have more subscribers and participants because of this decision and as we can see, it has solved the problem of many communities. So this was how the steemit engagement challenge began last year and as we speak, we are already in the season 7 of the steemit engagement challenge.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE STEEMIT ENGAGEMENT CHALLENGE

The importance of the steemit engagement challenge is to build a means of communication among users. The engagement challenge has made me to know many users that I do not know previously.

The interaction in the community also helps to build the platform to greater levels. With the engagement challenge more users are welcomed to the platform and now everyone can participate in the steemit engagement challenge regardless of your **reputation and Steem Power.

Everyone is welcomed to participate provided the a user has complete the basic achievement tasks in the Newcomers community posted by @cryptokannon.

The engagement challenge enables us to learn from each other and helps us build closeness with each other not just in the community of participation but in the steemit platform at large. And I have indeed learned many things in this platform through the engagement challenge.
