In your own words what do you understand by the word security

In my own understanding about the word "security"
Security can be defined as the process of protecting life and properties from been missing or stolen, in order word security is the process of keeping people from harm or dangers.
There are types of security that we need to know
. Physical security: this aspect of security has to do with protection against physical stealing or robbery around a houses, banks, shops and others places by harm robbers or thieves and in others to be self from violence, that is the fact about physical security.

. Cyber security: this has to do with the protection against digital or online threating like hackers or fraudsters in other not to have access to the site, that is all for cyber security

In your country, in what ways has the government been able to keep the citizens safe?

In this aspect I suggest the government have tried for the citizen of our country in terms of been secured there are many ways the government secured our country in listing the areas or types of security personnel we have are:
Police,army, custom, Navy Air Force, immigration, road safety, EFCC and the likes of them,
All the security personnel I list above have their rules to play and also the have their own different areas of work in other to keep the citizen safe and secure, for example:

. The Nigerian Custom there are mainly for boundaries to secure citizen from illegal trade ie. Cocaine, tobacco and others hard drugs.
. The Nigerian Immigration the mainly work in the airport.
. The Nigerian EFCC those are the special squad which are made to keep the citizen safe from online hackers or fraudsters ie the Yahoo people,
. The Nigerian road safety: these personnel are mainly found at the traffic light checkpoint in order to assess or safe the citizen from crazy driving.
Others also have their own rules to do for safety in the country.

Personally, what do you do for yourself or your family to be safe in your town or country?

Personally I can be secured with my family in our house which is well secured with solid fix iron door and protector in the process which fence and fence wire are well standard and active in the house like that it will be hard for a harm robber to operate, but in some people that are advance in money there may further look for a security personnel for more secure proposed.

Have you experienced or heard of any case of insecurity (robbery or kidnap)? What happened?

I heard of insecurity robbery and kidnapping, but I have not experienced it before but in robbery I have experience of it when I went to work it was very early in the morning around 6:10am when I was walking on the road to work I found 2 guys on the road which was near the traffic light as I was still going on there stopped me and ask me for money i tell them that I am not with money only the last money that was in my hand which was 1000 naira after some second guys from no way now surround me a say that it a most I will give them 2000 naira before I pass there was up to 8 in numbers, I thought it was just a play i find a way to escape from the environment but suddenly I find no other way, by that time I didn't find anyone on the road there search my bag I find my ATM card when the saw that, the force me to withdraw 5000 naira for them unless I will be short with gun an the only money that was remaining in the account was 8000 naira before they drag me to the nearest ATM machine and I withdraw the money for them before the set me free,
That is the experience a heard in the case of robbery.

What do you think is the best way to keep a home secure?

There are many best way to keep a home secure, for a home or house to be well secured need to be well fence and contain a fence wire on top with electric conductor flowing the house most be fixed with original solid iron door with protectors around, in some case people that have money can buy a police dogs for more secured proposed.

in conclusion

I was talking about security which I give the definition of security in my own understanding that security is the process of protecting life and properties, i outline the types of security we need to know which was the Physical and cyber security, I also give the difference types of security personnel in Nigeria and explain some, I tell how we should be secured in the home,
And I also share my experience about how I was robbery by thieves.
