We're in the digital era where technology has taken over everything. I'm really grateful for my childhood, because I had the opportunity of listening to interesting moonlight stories from my grandpa and parents. Aside from the morals lesson backed up with each story which really helped in my upbringing, it was also one of the things that made my childhood memorable.

🌜 Share with us the tales that made your childhood memorable. (A short tale, please.)

Growing up as a child, I always anticipate to hear moonlight stories from my parents. One of the moonlight stories that I still remember till date was the story of two siblings Oku and Ada. They were foreigners in a Community that forbids foreigners from going to their Village square on Eke market day because it was sacred.

Their mom usually go on a trip to buy goods for her business and she usually stay for days. Whenever she is going on the trip, she usually tell her children not to leave the house on Eke market. One-day, Oku persuaded his sister and they went out to the village square to play with other children on Eke market day and nothing happened.

On another occasion, they went to the market square and were captured by the palace bodyguards who took them to the king and he converted them to Palace maids as punishment for disobeying the sacred tradition.

🌜 Do you think it is wise to share tales with children? Yes/No. Back your answer with good reasons.

Yes is very good to share tales with children, because it has moral lessons which helps in children's upbringing.

🌜 From your childhood tales, what are the moral lessons that you still uphold to date?

Some of the moral lessons I still uphold today includes,

  • It is not good to disobey our parents and elders, because obedience is the only Commandment that has a blessing attached to it.

  • We should always tell the truth no matter the situation.

  • Their is no food for a lazy man.

🌜To what extent were moonlight tales appealing to you as a child?

I really loved and enjoyed moonlight tales when I was young to the extent that I will literally do all my house chores and even help my siblings do theirs so that nothing will prevent my parents from telling us moonlight stories.

In conclusion, I would really advise parents to reduce the time they children spend on gadgets and replace it with moonlight stories. Thanks for reading my post, I invite @rakiya, @impersonal and @ngozi996 to participate in this contest.
