Hello friends

It's a good way to start the week 5. Welcome as I share with you my country, and her mineral resources.

Give us a brief introduction about your country

Nigeria is a country located in West Africa, that comprises of 36 States and the federal capital territory where the capital, Abuja is located. However, Nigeria's most diverse feature is it's people. We have over hundreds of language s spoken in the country including Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Ibibio, Tiv, Edo and English.

My country is blessed with abundant natural resources, notably large deposits of natural gas and petroleum. . Lagos, the former capital, retains its standing as the country’s leading commercial and industrial city. It is the largest city in Africa where we have millions of residents.

Nigeria got her independence on 1st October 1960 and became a republican state in the year 1963. Nigeria is not only large in areas but also Africa's most populous country. When we talk of Agricultural produce in Nigeria, it has a fertile soil that is of high quality than other regions of the world to feed it's population and also have surplus for export.

Nigeria has a climate weather with dry and rainy season. In the southeast, it is mostly hot and wet but dry in the southwest. Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups, first occupant inherit the territory and that automatically becomes their land. We have 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria they are; Igbo Hausa and Yoruba.

Despite all of these, Nigeria is a low income country, and the country suffers from extreme corruption and inequality. 60 % of the population lives below the UN poverty line. The country has suffered insecurity for quiet a long time and that has been the major problem in the country.

What is/are the mineral resources your country is blessed with

Mineral resources are materials of economic interest found on the earth’s shell in such quality, quantity and form that can be considered for economic extraction. In Nigeria, mineral resources play a very serious role in the economic sector. That is where Nigeria economy is centered on, Mineral Resources.

Nigeria is a blessed country rich in mineral resources, including oil, limestone, niobium, lead, natural gas, coal, tin, iron ore, zinc, and many others. If only Nigeria would capitalize on these mineral resources, their would be a better country for inhabitants.

Some states with their mineral resources

Abuja: lead/ zinc, marble, clay
Abia State: Gold, salt, limestone
Adamawa State: Kaolin, Bentonite, magnesite
Cross River State: Limestone, Uranium, Manganese, Lignite, Lead/Zinc, Salt, Crude Oil
Enugu State: Coal, Limestone, Lead/Zinc
Imo State: Crude oil, salt, limestone,

Has these mineral resources been fully harnessed

Not yet in my country, it's still on the process or better still, in preparation. Sometime last year, it was announced publicly that the minister of solid minerals development will work with state governors to harness mineral resources for maximum socio-economic development of the country.

Until now, we are yet to be fed with the further updates on the recent happenings about the harnessing of the mineral resources.

Has the proceeds from these resources been used properly by your government for the welfare of her citizens...support your answer (Yes/No) with good points

The mining subway was developed
in 2016 to attain the growth and development of the Nigerian mining industry, and to create a globally competitive sector capable of contributing to revenue and GDP, providing jobs
and advancing social and human security for Nigerians. However, the trend analysis in the sector's employment generation, revenue contribution, and GDP, revealed that the
growth has been slow. This indicates that there are opportunities for improvement if the mining sector is to achieve the targets as set out in the mining subway.

This simply proof that the Nigerian mineral resources is still in progress as nothing has been done yet, hence no better welfare for the citizens of the country.

Hello dear lady.
Publications like this are what help me get good grades in class, without having to search on Google, because it tells something very good about Nigeria.
Here oil also plays a very important role, which, like your country, from what I have read, has not been able to take advantage of it, although the truth is I don't know much about that.
Knowing that Nigeria has more than 250 ethnic groups may make more than one think if I ever speak on this topic.

Success in the challenge 🤞🏻
Many blessings..🙏🏻

Hai teman...

Publikasi anda sangat menarik saya sangat menikmati membaca.

Semoga anda sukses teman....

Nigeria boasts abundant mineral resources, from oil to limestone, yet proper harnessing remains a work in progress. The mining sector initiated in 2016 for economic growth shows slow progress in job creation and revenue contribution. The country's potential for improvement is evident highlighting the need for effective utilization for citizens' welfare
