Hi everyone here, I'm @newtonb and I'm very much Happy to be writing this post here today. I'm actually writing to partake in a beautiful contest organized here by this community @steem4nigeria. Please kindly read as i take you through the answers to the questions.

SKILLS

Okay let me start with what I think a skill is. To me a skill is any activity carried out that has been learned or any training that one undergoes In other to perform particular tasks. This means that a skill must be learned.

We are not born with skills, we learn new things and they eventually become skills. An example of a skill can be speaking a foreign language, that is an acquired ability and so it's a skill, another example is professional graphic designing, that's a skill because for one to become a professional in it he/she must be trained.

Therefore an ability is considered a skill If and only if It was acquired after the process of training, practice and or continuous learning.

TALENTS

On the other hand, a talent is a special ability which is in-built. One does not necessarily have to undergo any particular training to acquire a talent. It is a free gift from God.

Nevertheless, it Is very important to understand that a talent sometimes may need to be harnessed, without which it may become dormant though available. An example of a talent is singing. One may be talented in singing but may need extra time of practice to harness the potential. Another example of a talent is drawing. If you're talented to draw you will always stand out in drawing contests.

Let me draw a line between the two. A skill is not in-born and it is only acquired through hard work and dedication. Meanwhile a talent is a gift but sometimes must be harnessed without stress to manifest in it's best ability.

Well, to me I think that both the skill and the talent have their place in our lives and as individuals we all have some special abilities which are called talents and also we do have skills which we've been able to acquire and all of them have their place in helping us operate In the society.

However, i admire a talent more
Because it gives us more room to become the best at what we do. And makes us stand out. You can't compare with a person who is talented In a particular area of life and you just have skills. Therefore talent is more likely to gain more relevance and exposure than skills because it's natural and organic.

Yes, I do have both skilss and talents. I will like to share with you one of each. As a skill I've acquired a skill in, content writing and graphic designing. I was able to acquire these skills online and it's a very profitable and productive one.

I also believe I'm talented in singing and I've been able to harness that talent to a certain degree of contentment.
