Greetings to my lovely Steemians!

Today am participating in a contest titled "My Neighborhood Watch #36 - Reporting Events Around Us". Writing about events happening around us is very Paramount to educate others on what is happening in the globe (world) even places they've not been to. Before I start I'll like to invite @alexanderpeace and @ruthjoe to also participate in this contest.
Briefly, before I proceed I'll like to say where am reporting from/reporting about. Am residing in Bori Rivers State Nigeria and my reports will all be about Bori.

Bori is such a lovely city blessed with a lot of natural resources such as crude oil, good soil for crops, etc.

Talking About The Events

Bori is a commercial city having 60 percent of her population as students and 40 percent indigence.

The majority of the indigence here are farmers they plant different kinds of crops such as; cassava, corn, yam, vegetables, fruits, Melon, etc. The soil is so blessed that almost all the crops grow in it. The city has a large market which sells every day but there's a special day known as the market day when the farmers bring their goods to sell and on that day the prices of goods are a bit cheaper. The market day is every Thursday, and on that day the market usually is full of people buying and selling both wholesalers and consumers.

Cost Of Living

The cost of living in Bori is getting higher daily, but this is not just happening in Bori but all over the country (Nigeria) as the economy of the country is falling cost of things is getting higher.

Transportation is very costly now, students now trek to their destinations after lectures because of the increase in fuel prices in the country.
Now depending on one source of income is a risky decision you need more than one source of income to meet your needs and have leftovers.

Another challenge we have here is limited cash flow or circulation, people here always experience difficulties in getting cash to buy or pay for their needs. The causes of this challenge are the banks available in the area, poor customer service, and the selling of cash to POS vendors and other high personnel. So standing on ques and waiting on banks for cash is now a usual happening to the people here.

Talking about the cultural events

All cultural events have already been done for the year except for August when they celebrate their Ken Saro-wiwa day, all other celebrations are in January.

Cost of living is quite costly not just in your Community but everywhere in the Country but what can we do, we would keep surviving.
