My Experience on Steemit and Plans to Contribute to its growth

Greetings to everyone. I hope we are all doing well, I’m here today to participate in a contest organized by our hardworking Admin on the theme My Experience on Steemit and Plans to Contribute to its Growth. Without wasting much time let’s go straight into it.

Unlike many users here, I was introduced to cryptocurrencies long before I joined steemit. It’s quite a funny story thou. You know as students struggling in school, I needed money so I friend of mine told me I would be able to make money online if a bought Bitcoin. He told me to invest an amount and within a couple of hours I will start earning profit on my capital. So I did as I was told and invested in it with little knowledge about what I was doing. After some hours, I started to see my capital reducing so I called him and he told me to calm down it normally does that.

So after sometime I checked my exchange wallet again and it still continued to fall. From there fear kicked in and I didn’t want to lose all my money so I called him to sell it for me. By then I taught it’s better to lose some than all. My friend still left his and in the next 48hrs made profit. So you can see that my first experience in the crypto market isn’t a sweet one.

How I joined steemit on the other hand is through my friend @rubilu123 who’s house is not quite far from mine. So anytime I would go to his house, he was always talking about CryptoAcademy and dairy game’s so I asked him what it entails and he mentioned Steemit saying it’s an online platform where you blog and earn for free. At that point I hardly believed in online platforms most of them are scams.

So I didn’t take what he said seriously. I remember he continued to text me on what’s app to join but I felt reluctant. And one faithful day he sent me a screenshot of the money he made by selling off just a few steem. The moment I saw the money I knew it was for real and hastily went to his house to register, he took my through my achievement 1 and today I’m here now.

My journey on steemit has been full of ups and downs. But I believe for one to truly cherish what we have achieved we have to look at what we overcame. Right from my achievement 1 post at first I didn’t know what to blog about or how to start And it got to a point were I nearly quit steemit because I felt like I wasn’t getting the rewards I deserved. But a friend of mine told me ‘little drops of water makes a mighty ocean’ these words stuck in my head and I persevered and continued blogging.

I continued blogging during the course of blogging and interactions with people I have made quite a lot of friends from Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Ukraine, America and many more. I have also learnt a lot from the post these people share on their blog that’s one thing I like about aside the fact that you earn money, you will also gain knowledge which is beyond measure.

Just like any other work or you job we take, we have expectations or plans, my plans for steemit is to achieve a reputation of 70. Most people don’t value the reputation but I do. I believe that it’s shows are trustworthy or dedicated you are on the platform so building my reputation is one of the goals I plan to achieve on this platform.

The idea of becoming an orca always amazes me. But one cannot achieve this feet unless you become a dolphin, so the first step is to become a dolphin before moving on to become an orca. I know that with the power up initiatives like club5050, 75 and 100 I will surely reach there, Slow but sure.

The steemit team has introduced a lot of interesting initiatives which have been amazing and have really helped us a lot personally for me I think the Steemit CryptoAcademy is the most exciting. Some users might not agree to this but this is my own opinion. The main reason why I think this initiative was great is because the world we live in is gradually advancing in the technological aspect of lives in a few years now technology and crypto will rule the world.

So the CryptoAcademy was an initiative put in place to arm as and make us ready to take advantage of the opportunities in crypto market. As we all know the market is full of so many opportunities. With the academy, professors take us through some technical indicators, teach us what to look out for when investing in the market.

Ever since I joined the academy, it has greatly helped me both financially and on paper because on my own am Able to do things I wasn’t able to do. Like trading (Futures), staking and more. I believe this is by far the best initiative the team has come up with.

Promoting steemit is something I have been doing for the past one year. I have seen the sort of help steemit has been to me i want people to also witness this greatness. But the is also a saying ’you can false a donkey to the river side but you can’t false it to drink from the river’. Through social media platforms like what’s app, I have been able to reach quite a few of my fried to join steemit.

Another way we planned to promote and as a matter of fact we have, is by donating to the orphanage. As Ghanaian steamians we contributed money from which we bought food stuffs clothes and many more. We educated the staffs and children about steemit. Here some pics from the orphanage

I have also personally on my laptop taken some of on my laptop taken some of the newbies I brought into the platform through the their achievement 1 post. And showed them what it takes to succeed on the platform. But unfortunately he couldn’t continue to blog for his own reasons. (I can show you the way but I can’t force you)

When it comes to the growth of steemit I believe we can grow the platform when we have more engagements. Engagements can be in the form of commenting on peoples post, voting, resteeming and many more. Even though the steemit engagement challenge has ended we should try and to vote, comment on peoples post.

I also believe that another way we can grow the platform, is by introducing the platform to the general public. There are some corners of the world that haven’t heard about steemit. And should the news reach them, the platform will surely grow.
