Introduction

There's an African proverb which says that "the monkey says everywhere is home. " It's true that everywhere is home, whether it is in an urban or rural area. It depends on one's view and feelings.

But if you ask me whether an urban or rural area, they're both unique and special, and they mean different things to different people.

Differentiate between urban and rural areas stating three major features

Urban areas are places with sophisticated roads, high-standard schools and nice gigantic and beautiful buildings. It is characterised by many people living in it with a noisy environment and busy roads.

Meanwhile, the rural areas are quiet places, very peaceful and less noise. It has few people living in them, sometimes with low standard roads. It is generally characterised by little or no development.

Which area did you grow up and why?

I grew up partly in the rural areas and partly in the urban areas. I was born in the rural area but grew up in the urban area, but visited the rural areas more often. That's why I can boldly state their features due to my experience.

If you were told to go to the area you didn't grow up from, will you?

Like I mentioned, I have lived in both areas. I love both areas because of their unique features. I live in the urban area and on the outskirts of it, it is more like I'm living in a rural area. I can cope with it because I love quiet places. But you know that as much as I love urban areas, I don't like noise. That's why I can't live in Lagos State. If you ask me to relocate and live there, the possibility would be very thin because I don't like their usual busy lifestyle.

What things are there in the area you grew up from that aren't in the other?

The city where I grew up has some easier aspects of life. Like going to the stream in the rural area was replaced by pipe borne water, fetching firewood from the woodlands was replaced by a kerosene stove, then, trekking a long distance to school was replaced by schools close by.

The city where I grew up also has more beautiful buildings than the little houses and huts in the rural areas. The city has sophisticated roads compared to the muddy and untarred roads in the village.

The city has more classy jobs and opportunities than just farming, hunting, rural school teaching and at most local government clerk jobs.

Conclusion

To be sincere, I tell you there is a deep sense of belonging, happiness and satisfaction amongst the inhabitants of the rural areas. Unlike the urban areas filled with people always hurrying to meet up with a standard of living, some chasing clout in order to fit in and so much competition.

Hello @eveetim.

Differentiating an urban area from a rural area does not cost you much, since you were born in a rural environment and grew up in an urban area. Actually, the urban area, as you indicate, has its advantages because there are more sophisticated things than in a rural area. In the urban area there are buildings, schools, it is more populated and busy, but life is very hectic and you don't really like the hustle and bustle of the city.

You show an interesting point of view in rural areas and you love tranquility, something you don't get in urban areas. Rural life has its shortcomings, but you enjoy the countryside and the crops.

Both areas are very valuable to you and you would easily adapt to both.

Thank you for sharing your point of view on the topic raised in the challenge for week 3 of season 15. Happy night.

That's right, my friend. Experiencing both zones as a lifestyle must be very enjoyable. However, we always go for the area that gives us the best quality of life.

God bless your life and family more. Success to you.

Thank you, friend!

Thank you for inviting me to participate. I'll try to participate. For me I don't believe in comparison. It depends upon individual's imotional attachment. If I go out of my city, even if I forget everything, I can't forget the particular building where I was born. The building where I studied in school, college and university. The lanes where I spend lonely after noon. The ground where I played and end no of things which are imbibed in blood and body. However I wish you all success in life.

Thank you for the invitation dear friend. I need to think what to write because all that could be said you already described. Sometimes it's good to be back in town but the noise...after a few hours I am tired of all those people, the noise they make, shouting, always in a hurry, all that stress. Might be the houses look better but the poverty, financial burden can be felt and seen.
No idea if I could live there again. In away I would be like that monkey... Home is inside of me not in a building but I hope no fighting neighbours, agressive neighbourhood, and at least a tiny balcony.

I understand how it feels leaving a place for such a long time, returning there won't be that easy. I can't return there but I just love the tranquility and serenity in the rural area.

Thank you, for visiting my page, this really means a lot to me.
